I installed the Rebug 3.60 spoof app and didnt like it, so i tried removing the spoof through the app but it kept giving me errors even after a restart, So I removed the rebug spoof app icon from the xmb anf forgot about it.

My problem now is this. I want to install cfw/linux dual boot, but my PS3 wont update because of the spoof I think. I formatted a usb 4g thumbdive to fat32 and made a folder structure like this: X:/PS3/UPDATE/UPDAT.PUP Can somebody please help me?

I do have it named that. That was my bad (mispelling).
I think my problem is that my ps3 is spoofed. IDK?

have you tried to do it in factory service mode o and try and install ofw first

try installing 3.55 OFW then doing CFW again

No I havent tried in service mode (not sure how) .
Also I am trying to udate with official 3.55 first.
I also tried reinstalling the rebug 3.60 spoof and the trying to undo it but it errors.
Also restored and reformatted hdd in PS3.
I will try the service mode way if I can find an article about how to get into and out of it.
I have always used this thumbdrive for updating and it still lets me install pkg's, so it works.

Well, I'm still having trouble installing ( I accidently hit the X button @ the wrong time), So I have to fix my mistakes before I can continue. LOL
Come to think of it, The tools were beeping 3 times, not two times each one after reinstalling ofw and then dualboot cfw/linux. something isn't right!

All your updating problems stem from the fact you're still spoofed as 3.60.

Even after I reinstalled official firmware?
