Well i was talking to someone and they said that.. " The update is encrypted using an earlier keyset. so im guessing Brink's eboot is still using 3.55 keys and the param is changed easily without needing keys or anything, you can change 3.60 to 3.55 by simple text i believe.. I asked Mathieulh if that helps lol

The reason why it works is because the EBOOT in the patch uses 3.55 keys, whereas the original EBOOT from the game unpatched uses 3.60 keys.
It was a common occurence back when everyone was on 3.41 that these patches would appear getting new games working that didn't originally. They were debug updates though, which I think the one for Brink probably is too.
