Post: Mine, brendan's, unkn0wns exploit released.
05-15-2011, 08:01 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Since i'm not in the ps3 scene anymore i have released it last week. To be honest it's been long enough and im sure you guys were annoyed when this exploit changed me. It changes everyone to non-releasing pricks. All of the information is not complete, you need to be able to program or know someone who has some decent coding experience if you want faster injection of files. I will go over all of that on the next page anyway. I do not deserve credit. All credit to TheUnkn0wn and hunter. Also to brendanj, as he found out alot more while i was battling the installation :P Before i get any stupid fake comments. Me and brendanj used it, it works, but it isn't for noobs. If you don't know what your doing, you will break your PS3.

ANOTHER THING I WOULD LIKE TO MENTION! I DO NOT ENDORSE HACKING. THIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSE ONLY AND ANYONE WHO FOLLOWS THIS INFORMATION IS THEIR PROBLEM! I DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR BROKEN PS3's OR BANNED ACCOUNTS!

NO ADVERTISING INTENDED! THE WEBSITE LINKS I INCLUDED WERE FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES.

[multipage=Exploit Info ]

HERE IS ALL OF THE INFORMATION! THIS IS NOT A STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL!
Alright everyone let me make this clear. There is still a lot of information that needs to be added by people who know what their doing, it is the basis of the exploit not the whole thing. I am not showing you how to do it step by step, i am merely giving you the information me and my partner found. This is for modern warfare 2 (mw2) etc. To my knowledge from seeing TheUnkn0wn argue with some arab707 noob or something, hacking Black Ops also involves cryptology and understanding system language, which not many people have that knowledge or time to learn it. So this is the information only 2 people have known for some time!

Infectus 2!
Now i will get into it. I am sure everyone heard of ps3 downgrading a few years back with a certain chip. That chip was called the Infectus mod chip and is still around today. It is a universal mod chip that gets soldered to the NAND. That is what it looks like on the left (Infectus 2). Now i bet at the moment you are all wondering "well how the hell does a chip that was used to downgrade ps3's, that was then patched, create a mw2 hacking exploit?" Well because it is soldered to the ps3's NAND or NAND's (slims have 1 if i remember rightly). With some knowledge you are able to use the reading and writing function through the NAND to access the RAM. Then read and write to the NAND.

NDT created the best program to use with the infectus. If you plan to code your own program, that is what you need to base your program off, you can use his but it takes alot longer to find the files in the RAM to replace. A question you might be thinking of is "What has the RAM got to do with anything?." Well when you start MW2 or any game, the game writes the .gsc's out of the patch (cod series) and other game files into the PS3's memory to read off (the RAM). I am going to use MW2 for this example. If you inject a new .gsc from a custom patch that you made, while it was writing the memory to the RAM, then it will read that new file instead of the original (overrides it), also meaning you don't have to go through any compression method and it is pretty much instant.

The infectus connects to your computer by a usb port on the 2nd chip (right chip in photo). That is how your program, or NDT's will work. You need to find the gsc in your RAM. And replace it with one of your own. This also opens up many more exploits, which i believe is the basis of hunter's and unkn0wn's recent discoveries with Black Op's. But i cannot help you any further as this is all i know, and needs someone more intelligent to continue the work. Good luck everyone, before this is patched. There are some of us who will, release this to the community out there! Remember that!

If anyone is wondering how the Infectus and usb port is installed, you will need to glue the usb chip somewhere near the casing of the ps3. Some guides glued it on top of the HDD. That is what i did. But you have to dremel holes in the motherboard casing, and the PS3 plastic casing. So this exploit will take a fair amount of time, and you will most likely go through a few ps3's, unless you know absolutely what your doing. Or have the same model as some of the diagrams.

Here is some more information and diagrams for different PS3 NAND's. This is the hardest bit as too much heat to your NAND will wreck it, resulting in a YLOD. And you need to make sure you have the correct diagram for your PS3. I would not recommend using a slim as they are a hastle, and FAT ps3's have 2 NAND's (different places for different model's).

I am sure there are more diagrams and stuff out there, but that is for you to research now, this is well enough information, and alot more than anyone got last year! Good luck guys.

Thats good to hear man, hopefully inspires some others. It consumes time, you just gotta make sure you don't get addicted like i did and then fail school xD, so i sold my ps3 haha.

ProKillah, we have the same story. I was so into hacking the PS3 that now I have to attend summer school :(.

Anyways, you guys might won't a very low version PS3, but it is impossible to find. A version on 1.25 or something where the modchipped work. I don't think no one noticed but you CAN QA Flag your PS3 with this modchip ^_^. Then put your patches on it and go online with the same low version FW.

I knew that dude, i used it before i came across this, and still like it more than this, since you can see the files easier, but as someone said, i am not releasing a step by step for it, since me and brendan figured that by ourselves, it isn't hard, but only the people who can figure it out should know.

You didn't make one word of sense. And you obviously leaked it from my site then, thats why it was called fake since you don't know what your doing!.

true nicely put i look at infectus as kinda a backdoor i agree it would cut your work down by removing some of those pesky restrictions so for replying with a responsible and intelligent response +rep

I guess we are all entitle to our own views. Thanks for not flaming about it.

Yes, that is what I originally did on my first PS3. Until the 3.41 JB came out and then updated it. It's good to know we have some people on here who know what I was talking about when I said I knew that method :P

Cheers man, I always thought that infectus had something to do with it. I've got the Infectus 2 in my third PS3 (fat) and I am giving it a go now with NDT's program. I also know the HDD method.... But I won't release that.... Besides... It was released on another site 3 years ago but not many people know what site and its in the dumpster part of the site anyway.

Thanks for releasing anyway man, it's good to know we have some nice members on the forum who are willing to help out. But in a sense, it shouldn't have been released..... Never the less, thanks for helping out !

I know mate, but with the new .self checks its pointless to keep it a secret. I just want to make the point that the credit goes to unkn0wn, not me and brendan. Plus if you run into anything, PM brendan, since you already have it installed he will listen to you.

Good luck mate, see what you can find.

Cheers mate, do you know the HDD method yourself ? Because sometimes I have trouble with it :/
