*Backup your game to an external HDD in multiMAN
*Set the BD-Rom emulator to Hermes in the XMMB/settings menu in multiMAN

*Delete game data in XMB (if it was installed prior to following this tutorial)
*Launch game in multiMAN and install cache to internal HDD

Y I HAZ BLACK SCREEN?! :yuno:
If you get a black screen when launching a game, make sure that you have deleted the game data in the XMB before trying again.
If you have other problems running certain games You must login or register to view this content. for information.
[multipage=Games that don't work (currently being tested) ]
Darksiders
EyePet Move Edition
Lair
Michael Jackson The Experience (BLES01135)
Nier
Quantum Theory
Ridge Racer 7
The Sly Cooper Collection
Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X 2
Uncharted: Drakes Fortune
Vanquish

*If you somehow get one of these games working, then let me know so I can update the list
[multipage=Additional information & source ]
*Games that are backed up with a file over 4GB require a certain amount of gigabytes on your PS3's internal HDD (cache) in order to play
*Splitting a game like Killzone 3 (25GB) and backing it up to an external HDD can save you a lot of space on your internal HDD (9GB cache)
*Certain games like God of War Collection and Blaz Blue: Continuum Shift will only save you about 2-3 gigabytes on your internal HDD
*Keep in mind that it may not be worth backing up certain big file games to an external HDD, for the reason I stated above

And page 3 says "Games that don't work (currently being tested)" meaning that not every game on that list is confirmed not working.
Some people (on a different forum) have said that UFC 2010 works and some say that it doesn't.
I haven't tested the game myself because I don't own it, but I'll remove it from page 3 for now.

I dont mean you personally check every game, you should mention it in your thread and ask people to pm or qoute you each cache that they have tested themselves as you say not every game is worth putting on external would be good to know which ones are thats all.

I can confirm that Darksiders (BLUS30320) works but you have to persevere here.

How do you make DiRT 1 (BLES00095) work? I tried everything.

What do you mean by that? Does it give you a few errors before working, or what?
And apparently You must login or register to view this content.
The only way you can get it to work is if you install a pkg, then move the backup data to the folder that was created. And then launch it from the XMB (internal)

The trick is to let it install the 2179MB game data while the music is playing and the screen is black. Once the hdd led stops glowing, you know it's finished, but the screen stays black and it seems frozen. All you need to do next is press the PS button to quit the game and restart it from the disc icon in XMB.

OK but then it should be removed from your external hdd list.

I'm checking all my internal games once more with deank's update to 2.00.02 (multiMAN ver 2.00.02 UPDATE (20110523_180000).pkg) and will come back with more results soon.

Update to multiMAN v2.00.02. There are no BD-Rom emulator settings in multiMAN v2.00.00. It was introduced in multiMAN v2.00.01.

Ok, I have a question.

I have KillZone3 on my PC, a 1TB external HDD (fat32) and a PS3 kmeaw 3.55 with the latest multiman. I splitted the big 9GB file and put it all on my External HDD. It wont play... maybe my split files are wrong. How should I splitt the big file?

I get the playstation move warnings, (no internet connection) and the screen freezes after that.
