(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); 1. take out the Hardrive to ps3.
2. plug into computer
3. put on modded patch...

----if im right there will most likely be something keeping you from going into the (reg).. my question is. would a virus like program be able to inject the modded patch into the (reg)..???

i am not sure about now... but the ps3 decrypts without the need to be Sony approved software. and they use the same keys for everything on the ps3... im running 2 modded patches for waw and cod4. but not approved by Sony but still run... im guessing they changed the keys maybe?? but then how would they run still? but if the HDD is crypted i would need the key. then the hijacking of the patch would work? or could i go straight to the patch.

No bro, the firmware is stored on the NAND, not the HDD. Rookie mistake Winky Winky

Isnt their a way to flash the NAND. Iv dun tht on psp bfor, I used ChickHEN, Its a cool program tht uses .tiff images to temporarily put the psp into cfw until switched off ( RUNS ON THE RAM ), If we hd tht on PS3, we cud use Blakbox, put on pach thn turn it off n bk on thn we wudnt hv cfw but still hv pach

Yes, but it involved taking apart your ps3, and soldering a chip known as infectious, which allows you to dump all the flash's contents, and then allows you do downgrade. You wouldn't be able to look through the contents of the ps3 due to it being 1 big file, which is encrypted with the ps3 fw key, only then will you be able to put patches on the ps3, and yes key does also mean cfw/jailbreak.

You would have do decrypt the whole HDD and then encrypt again.
You aren't the first guy, that had this idea.
It was possible on FW 3.15, I think. There was a tool, that decrypted and encrypted the HDD.

/well, I see you're an awesome 1337 haxX0r and it's so easy for you to exploit the PS3 and sorry, I forgot to say that you're a f***ing genius.

Damn.. -.-
Here are too many of those 1337 haxXors on NGU. I dunno if I should stay longer here :/ :S
