LOL, first of all clear your mind of these "USB hacks". OFW is short for official firmware which is something that your ps3 is already being ran on, which is provided by Sony. CFW means custom firmware which allows you to run homebrew applications which ps3 users make themselves. These custom firmwares which are only for versions 3.41, and 3.55 can be downloaded and put on a USB, then they can be installed on to your ps3. Homebrew applications consist of some convenient apps such as Multiman which allows you to run downloaded or backed up games from your ps3. I would explain in more detail but I'm busy with something else. Hope this helps ^.^

^^ Should have mentioned if the OP is on the latest firmware there's no way of downgrading, because that's the obvious question that will follow
