ofw is official firmware which sony gives you if you have a ps3 that is on 3.55 use cfw"custom firmware" you can do a lot more with it

3.55is best u don't have to use dongle like 3.41. on 3.55 u have kmeaw and geohot cfw or u could use rebug

cfw allows you to backup games, download games, play all your favorite emulation files such as Nintendo ect and just a variety of other stuff
as for the best most will tell you either kmeaw or rebug and im no exception this however involves your ps3 firmware version to be 3.55 or lower if its higher then you will have to wait for a new exploit to surface.

ofw basically has one thing over cfw and that is online gaming if your a online gamer i suggest going this rout as you wont be able to access the network while running custom firmware

geohot is the worst cfw ever released it takes a godly effort to get backups going and manny other things the only thing it has on the others is it never crashes thats it other than that the others are alot better

if u have a 2nd that's not gonna be a problem 1 on ofw and one on cfw can help u with cls back up and data transfer pkg files
