When I data transfer my MW2 patch from that ps3 to my 3.66 OFW one, will it take forever, and what will happen to all the games (since I obviously can't play then on my OFW ps3)...

Also my 3.66 ps3 is 40gb and my 3.55 is 500gb... does that matter at all??? :confused:

Think of it like this: when you data transfer, you are pretty much transferring the insides of one ps3 to the other, besides FW of course. Everything that you had on your original ps3 is replaced with everything on the one that you are transferring from.

But... those games can't even work on an OFW ps3, will they still transfer?

It probably won't even work, a 500gb hdd was never meant to transfer to a 60gb hdd.

So I'm thinking If i switch the hard drives and reformat them it will work then? If I reformat the hard drive of my Ps3 with CFW on it, what will happen? Will it still have the cfw and .pkg files installed???

Or can I just delete all the games off my 500gb and keep ONLY my mw2 patch on it, making it smaller than my 40gb. Then that should work and go very fast, right?

No, I've tried multiple times to transfer from a slim to a fat console. I even tried transferring 250gb slim to a 320gb phat, it still didn't work with NOTHING but the mw2 patch. So either get a slim console on OFW or a phat console on 3.55

All I want to transfer is the mw2 patch... so I'm fine with that, lol.

Also my friend transfers patches from slim to phat all the time... I can tell you how if you want. It's pretty easy actually. You can't transfer stuff that only jailbreak consoles can run, I'm sure you knew that though

you dont need the games and they are just taking up unneded space and time
so i would reformat ps3
install file manager
and mw2 pkg file or download it from the ps3
edit patch then data transfer
if you just have a patch the transfer only takes like 10 seconds

part 1 yes fw is on the nand not hdd but all things on the hdd will be erased

part 2 yes that ways much easier also
