A Too Damn Legit Beast Happy
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys,
I have a 3.66 OFW Original Fat 80GB PS3 and I found a 120GB Slim on 3.50 on Craigslist.

I was wondering 2 things,
1) If I find the 3.55 Firmware Link, can I put it on a flashdrive and update my 3.50 to 3.55?
and
2) Will all my stuff be erased? My 80GB has everything I've downloaded, such as Map Packs, updates, the works. First time using data transfer, so I need some help please Smile

Yes you can update the 3.50 console to 3.55 Custom Firmware here is a link to one of the best CFW's out You must login or register to view this content. or you could even install Linux with an OtherOS++ pup here is a direct download link for that otherOS pup You must login or register to view this content. and you can also QA flag your console if you install the otherOS++ .pup with the QA flag.pkg heres a direct download link for that as well You must login or register to view this content. and just back up your ps3 before data transferring to it because it does format your HDD.

1) Yes, download whatever 3.55 firmware you want to use and place it on a USB in the following folder structure- root(removable disk _)/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP. Ensure you rename whatever firmware you download to PS3UPDAT.PUP.
2) Yes, unless you use a 3.66 spoof on Rebug 3.55.2 CFW to data transfer from OFW to CFW first, and then back again once you've made whatever changes you want(I assume modified patches).
