Lately I noticed that my Hardrive had alot of stuff on it so i formated it on my Pc Now i have nothing on it This wouldnt be the first time ive done this Anyhow i was being very careful so dont accuse me of being wrecless as i know how to break a Hardrive without being careful (early expierence) Ok back to the speil whenever i turn on the ps3 it Has a blank screen turns on for about 15 secs Approx then turns off no blinking red lights or nothing I phoned sony they sed send it in we will have a look i sed F%*% Off for £134 Screw that so thats how i ended up here And The recovery menu does appear when i get it on ive tryed restoring file system and that crap no luck though I have 3.55 Ofw on a usb and tryed updating things like tht but wen updating it just says checking for about 30 mins then i cancel it So help please ASAP REmember at the top and sorry if i put this in wrong section

well i'm pretty sure it will just try it can't really lose anything, i thought the same thing when i first updated but then i accidently left it and i came back and it worked

Have you tried any other hdd's? It could just be a hdd failure, if not then you may need to go get it repaired I'm afriad, if it is the hdd then try formating it via fat32, windows wont format anything thats above 30gbs to fat32 but theres a way, just google it (cant direct link because its a forum )

Lol you are going to have to format it with the latest fw update, because it seems to me that you actually had a newer update and tried to reformat your hdd thinking you could just format it on your ps3 with a 3.55 update and downgrade which doesn't work as you've found out
this is the same thing my friend did thinking the fw was saved on hdd but its not..
