Yo what's up guys most of this is my guide on DOWNGRADING
This is my first guide explaining something like this so yeah it won't be professional :love:
I am going to explain downgrading the best way i can and try to make it easy as possible for you guys this guide is from my own knowledge which i have taught myself using these downgrading modchips so please don't go mad if i miss something or its incorrect just tell me and i will correct it.

Alot of people ask alot of questions such as Is that solderless? Is soldering hard? Where can i buy this? Can i downgrade via USB? :mad: hate that question...these questions keep getting asked so i thought if i made this downgrading thread then it would make alot of members stop, read this thread and then think to themselves before posting a question which has been repeatedly answered 1000 times lol.

Ok first lets cover up the basics you must be here because you want to downgrade right? or looking into downgrading. Well downgrading is not all that hard when you think about it. You don't need to sit there and start having a panic attack, if you stay calm and be confident in your own skills you will get there trust me. If your scared and you are going to piss yourself or your thinking oh shit i messed up once i can't risk it again then LEAVE NOW!!! or be a man and face reality lol.

Ok there are quite a few ways to downgrade start by looking at modchips page click it, and have a look around make sure you READ EVERYTHING.

And at the END go to the FAQ and USEFUL LINKS section it may answer what your looking for if your stuck.

Ok guys this is the MODCHIPS section i will try to explain modchips the best way i can

Ok first of all a modchip is a downgrading chip no not the FOOD... a chip like this You must login or register to view this content.

These chips usually require some money to buy and then some work to install them. When you buy a chip like the one i just showed, you have to then take apart your PS3 to install it, there are alot of different ways to install modchips, some being a bit easier than others.

Ok i think now you know a brief idea of what i am talking about, so lets get down to the guide on Where to buy modchips and modchip explanations.

Ok first of all i will be showing you the best MODCHIPS out to date on the market for downgrading the PS3 and the recommended places to buy them. I will be listing them in the order i prefer.

Ok for me this is the best downgrading chip out for ps3 yet. It is the easiest to install but it costs abit more compared to some others, it is a SOLDERLESS solution for ps3 slim boards and if you have a ps3 fat you have to solder this will be explained in the Tutorial section. It allows DUAL BOOT functions this means you can quickly switch between OFW and CFW ps3. This is pretty easy to install because of the solderless capability for PS3 SLIMS but like i said it can cost quite a bit from $80 to $100

Im in the UK so for me it wasn't as expensive as to someone in the US

Next up is the this is solderless for NANDS as they have the solderless dual NAND tools out but for other PS3 NOR types you have to SOLDER all slim ps3's are NOR

There is also a v1.0 but if you are going to buy this just get the v1.1 it basically does the same job and is better than v.1.0 it costs abit more though...

If you are buying this then get the SOLDERLESS NAND TOOLS ONLY if you have a NAND motherboard i will explain this in the TUTORIALS section if you don't have a NAND motherboard then you will have to SOLDER. This is a fairly good modchip it works for alot of consoles PS3, WII, XBOX etc

I will say this though this has not been tested by many people so it's your own risk if you end up doing something to your console.

Ok i will be explaining the tutorials as much as i can from the modchips i have already shown you...

Ok firstly lets take a look at the E3 FLASHER you are going to want to see if your ps3 is compatable with the e3 flasher here is the compatability list for PS3 FATS and PS3 SLIMS

Get your PS3 and look at the back of it, it shows what type of ps3 you have CHECHK OR CHECKL these are just some examples... After doing this look at the compatability list to see if yours is compatable

If your ps3 is a NOR motherboard you can downgrade easily without soldering if its is a NAND i recommend either learning to solder or getting a PROGSKEET. All NOR motherboards are downgradable. The new ps3 slim releases the ones highlighted by a bit of red cannot be downgraded as of yet. If you ps3 came with stock firmware 3.55 or less it can be downgraded stock means when you bought your ps3 was it on lower than 3.55 or on 3.55.

Ok once you have checked the compatablity then you may install the E3 FLASHER ok here is a video on the installation and downgrade its pretty straight forward. He shows you everything just pay attention

Ok soldering is basically where you heat metal up so much that it melts. Soldering is mainly used to join parts together... its a bit like sticking glue and paper. You basically hold the iron or metal above the point you want to join and then you melt it using a soldering iron or soldering gun.

1. Can i downgrade with a USB STICK (Gets asked alot)

A: NO NO NO NOOOOO

2. Is it best to downgrade with a modchip or just wait for a new JAILBREAK?

A: I doubt there will ever be a new jailbreak so its best to just buy one of these modchips and downgrade

3. Is progskeet or e3 flasher better

A: Progskeet is universal it works for alot of consoles the progskeet lets you downgrade you PS3, WII or X360 if you are new to hacking i wouldn't recommend this unless you have taught yourself SOLDERING. The progskeet can be used to downgrade and then removed and you can downgrade more consoles. It also lets you recover from BRICKED consoles e.g. When you turn your ps3 on it just shows a black screen. But in my opinion e3 flasher is better since it is solderless, for all slims which were on stock firmware 3.55 or lower, it is easier for a noob to install this, really it is pretty easy

3. Do i need E-Sata Station for the E3 FLASHER

A: Yes you do i recommend buying the E3 Flasher limited it gives you everything plus a ps3 slim power switch

4. Do i need anything extra once i have bought the E3 FLASHER Limitied

A: Yes you will also need an E3 CARD READER look it up using google

5: If i decide to buy progskeet will i need any extra's with it?

A:If you decide on Progskeet i suggest getting the SOLDERLESS DUAL NAND tools ONLY IF YOU HAVE A NAND check my chart on the TUTORIAL SECTION to see if you have nand, if you have NOR then you just need to solder onto your motherboard and follow the tutorial, also checkout the progskeet site it should show diagrams but i have included them too...

6. What about dual boot with e3 flasher or progskeet

A: As far as i am concerned DUAL BOOTING only works for the e3 flasher link here for dual boot You must login or register to view this content.

There is not an exact guide upto date with this yet. When a guide comes out i will be the first to update my thread so yeah look here for the dual boot guide. As for progskeet it is possible, if you have a NAND you can buy the solderless nand tools and dual boot from there by just installing the chip onto your NAND chip. If you have a NOR then you will have to solder the progskeet and keep it connected to your ps3 at all times for the dual boot.

7. Can i downgrade by wiping/erasing a HARD DRIVE info (Gets asked alot)

A: No you cannot i repeat you cannot

I just want to know something when I downgrade my ps3 OFW 4.0 to CFW 3.55 . When I will be on CFW 3.55 can I return back to 4.0 OFW ? We not chance of brick ?

my ps3 is a CECHG NAND can i use the E3 Flasher?

I have a fat ps3 CECHL01 80gb OFW 4.00 will the E3 method work on my ps3. Also i jailbroke this bak when 3.55 geohot what out and i switched to get kmeaw 3.55. It that still the best cfw and can i still get it. Also were can i get that downgrade stick and the dongle thing an the stick u put the sd card in. Were do i buy them

ok i have chechp01 fat ps3 , so i need to solder this? , and can i downgrade with e3flasher , install modded patches or games, upgrade and play online , plus repeat process if needed
