RUMOR - A New Type of PS3 Hack Coming This Year, PS3 Drive Emulation!
Apparenlty, there is a report that a new PS3 Drive Emulation hack will be available later this year; without the need of CFW or a Dongle. It seems some new team has cracked Sony's PCB, and will be able to clone it along with adding the ability to play backups similar to the Wasabi360 or Xkey for the Xbox360. It is said they are keeping the project as secret as possible until they are able to release it, as to not give Sony(PlayStation) the opportunity to patch the exploit.

so this is the same as a xbox360 being flashed to an extent?

It is 100% fake, in the picture you can see a simple SATA to PATA converter. Has no sense for this project use a PATA HD. Also the a small single chip as in the picture is too small for emulate completely a BD subsystem, at least we need a external RAM and FLASH to be done.
In any case in theory this solution, as the WODE DVD emulation will be possible, but it need that the protection system will be emulate too. Due the protection system is not known, is not possible to create an emulator that emulate BD with protection subsystem.

no offense and i do see its placed here but this is not a hack or exploit its a rumor and a poor one at that considering the proof around it imo this should be in general not hacks and exploits , one big reason i didnt care to even post up
