(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey FODnow here (Nick). This post explains how to access the PSN with any 3.55 jailbreak, You still get to keep the Install Package Files and other stuff, but you get more options. This is the text on how to do this:

You must have a jailbroken PS3. If not than this post is useless to you.

Download the firmware from here: You must login or register to view this content.

(Not anything like Sharecash, it's a direct download. I hate Sharecash as much as you)
Now extract that with WinRar or 7zip or whatever un-rarer you use.

Get a USB flash drive and format it to FAT 32. Now, on the USB make a folder on it:

PS3

Inside the PS3 folder make another folder called:

UPDATE

Ok, now with the firmware you downloaded, rename it to UPDAT.PUP. Yes, no E.
Place UPDAT.PUP in the UPDATE folder. Place the USB flash drive in your PS3's USB slot. Now go to settings. On the very top there will be "System Update". Press X and choose the second option to install firmware from your USB. Go through all of the agreements and finish updating.

Now to get online:
Download the .PKG file to access PSN here: You must login or register to view this content.

Now extract it an put the .PKG file on your USB. On the main part, not in any folders.
Go to Package Manager>Install Package Files>Standard Location (I think that's it) and choose the one you just got.

Install it, and run it. Now when it's open install the things. It looks like your PS3 froze but it's installing. Your PS3 will turn off. Turn it on and go to Manage Package Files. Now go to Install Package Files. In there choose the first one and click the last one. 1.6.1 I think it's called.Install it.

Now open CEX DEX, it's what you got when you installed the 1.6.1 thing.
Press L1+O at the same time. It should now say you're in rebug mode. Press the PS button and quit game. Your PS3 will turn off. Turn it back on, and enjoy 3.55 online!

I have encountered a problem on my Rebug firmware installation where I cannot run ANY games. Discs, backups, you name it. If someone can fix this please make a reply and i'll give you rep.

... Dude, how many times did you read in rebug's website "DO NOT HOTLINK" and you go right ahead and hotlink it, PLUS, you don't even give credit to rebug, or even redirect to their website. You don't even know how to properly install the firmware and ask for help in return of rep. Seriously dude? Seriously?

I think he explained it very well, but I do agree that he needs to give credit to REBUG Team
