People might not remember, but around this time last year there was a massive news story breaking involving Sony and this person who went by the handle of GeoHot (real name George Hotz). Long story short, George managed to hack the Sony system to give people direct root access to the system—something that basically means that it can emulate whatever the user wants. There was a lawsuit, some additional hacking to the network in protest, and it all ended up with George getting a great job at Facebook to try and make sure the same thing didn’t happen there.

Well just this week Mr. Hotz sat down with a large group of engineers to talk about what they could do to make Sony, their network, and future products even safer. Interestingly enough GeoHot has received enough notoriety since the lawsuit that this meeting alone warranted an interview with some rather important newspapers (namely The New York Post). Directly after this case broke Hotz was quoted repeatedly saying that he would be more than happy to go and work with Sony to try and prevent this kind of thing from happening, and as odd as that sounds that kind of thing is what ends up happening 9 times out of 10 with these kinds of events.

Oh and if people are thinking this is geohot trying to get into sony HQ to get the new exploit around the console well you have another thing coming sony will make him sign a contract obviously today in this world if you work for the security of the software & hardware of any console/computer or machine on this earth you will need a contract stating a fine print saying "You fuck with us we fuck with you" not really that but im sure the message would be clear.....

Kid if he want's money he could of sold off the 3.55 keys did he choose to? No. Why? Because he believes we should open OUR consoles that we bought and do anything with it. He chose that rout for money because lifes hard right now to find a good paying job..

Alright first of all, he already has a good job at facebook, even the OP says it, it's a "great" job, why would he be in an economic crisis? He's not doing it because he needs the money, he's doing it because he wants the money and I'm not saying that I'm against his work at facebook, I think it's great that they hired him, the irony is where he tries to help sony for money, he already gets paid by facebook a lot of money, he said that he hated sony and encouraged people to hate them too, look at what anonymous did, I even heard that a hacker was offered a job at sony and told them no because of the lawsuit that was happening to george hotz, and don't tell me about 3.55 as the first thing that sony will request is patch the bypass, what's a ps3 without online? Garbage, second, he's not the same hacker that found 3.55, he will be the opposite of one as he will work on the security of ps3, I've seen people like the E3 Team get really close to a possible cfw, in fact, no one has gained it, so what will geohot do? Avoid a new cfw, so once again he already makes good money, and being selfish because he wants more money, he will screw up the work of many hacking teams, not only E3's, this sounds like a guy on NGU that I argued with a long time ago because he said he was a christian and today he is an atheist, do you see what's wrong with that? It's safe to say that it's ironic, as today geohot is the opposite of a hacker, and it's safe to say that it's greedy, because he already makes good money, what makes you think he needs more. He even made a rap about how much he hates sony, and he even wrote essays about how much sony tried to screw his life, let me guess, what's next, help apple fix jailbreak for the next iPhone?

Its actually quite genius,he gets in,gets a back door and a fat paycheck. If ur good at something,dont do it for free. He might turn on them in the end. Inside the belly of the beast my be our way in. They screwed him,he might get some payback with their trust.

I totally agree and look what he did on his jailbreak along the way he prevented any game emulation (Pirated Games) to be accessed on his CFW which i did not think possible due to the fact that a homebrew program creates the emulation....
And yes complete opposite from hacking he will be building the security everyone thinks "OOO geohot working for sony lets get cfw ready for our ps3's" But their wrong because sony wont be showing george their security they will just be asking him to show what kind of security he can offer for the console if its weak their bail but if its stronger they will stay but if its the same sony will use him as a backup person.....

Please, don't confuse my opinion with naivety. Breach of contracts and leaking are 2 diff things. I'm sure the man is smart enuf that if he were gonna screw em over,he wont leave a paper/cyber trail saying he did. C'mon...
