A new PS3 hack is claiming to turn retail versions of Sony’s gaming machines into developer debug models, which would have the magical and very desirable ability to run unsigned code. The piracy disc tray has just slid open.

The hacker, who calls himself AnoRelease, has created the extremely complex method, which, as you might expect, comes with the usual warnings attached about potentially “bricking” your console should anything go wrong during the long-winded process.

If it goes right, though, a world of access to unsigned code, preview versions of games and yes, copies, would open up. Might be worth waiting until the process has been automated, though, if you’re the wary sort.

Hmmmm...


So maybe CFW is working it's way back, but will most likely cause mass problems :S

It won't cause problems = no psn access. Seem to be the only way sony can try to pull people in by using there TOS as breaking the law.
No accessing PSN = no breaking the TOS. They really got nothing or nobody to sue.Also you can not sue customers cause of converting your own PS3...

I read somewhere there would come a 'blu-ray' hack so you can backup games without CFW so there's no way in patching it, was that fake or what?
