With this modified DEX firmware you are able to install and run retail PKG's. Coupled with the also newly released Rogero 3.55 DEX CFW one has more debug firmware options as those with the outdated retail custom firmware. To use this modified firmware or any DEX/Debug/Test firmware, modified or not, it is required that you first convert your retail PS3 to a debug PS3. Caution is advised as the slightest error could result in a bricked system.

Ok so you converted from CEX to DEX and you have not been able to install retail pkg's? well now you can with this firmware. 3.55 DEX ofw patched with mfw builder for peek and poke and eussNL's patch.

You must change the file name from "NewDEXKamel.PUP" to "PS3UPDAT.PUP"

UPDATE: OK so i tested the psn game mortal kombat arcade collection and it installed fine with the duplex patch. That's the only game I had to test.

yes it is but dude if my ps3 gets bricked cant i just put it in recovery mode again and restore whole system?

nope your only fix to a bricked is by flashing the nand/nor with a e3 flasher or progskeet brick will give you a black screen and no recovery

ok :'( and gotta problem, i try to install it on recovery and it say's no appicapable datafound or however you spell it lol ?! whats wrong?

lol i dont know not many have this problem but probs not best to mess around with this m8 wait till something safer n better is out

So does this Modified Dex Firware to anything special opposed to the regular CFW we have on 3.55? Or is it mainly for people who are downgrading?

I not gonna try it but i think ino what i did wrong? The DEX to CEX pup, isnt that aswell CEX to DEX? If it is shouldnt of i installed that first, then installed the 4.11 DEX?
