With this modified DEX firmware you are able to install and run retail PKG's. Coupled with the also newly released Rogero 3.55 DEX CFW one has more debug firmware options as those with the outdated retail custom firmware. To use this modified firmware or any DEX/Debug/Test firmware, modified or not, it is required that you first convert your retail PS3 to a debug PS3. Caution is advised as the slightest error could result in a bricked system.

Ok so you converted from CEX to DEX and you have not been able to install retail pkg's? well now you can with this firmware. 3.55 DEX ofw patched with mfw builder for peek and poke and eussNL's patch.

You must change the file name from "NewDEXKamel.PUP" to "PS3UPDAT.PUP"

UPDATE: OK so i tested the psn game mortal kombat arcade collection and it installed fine with the duplex patch. That's the only game I had to test.

i dont get it though, i want to install app's then run then but probably that wont be able to happen,and if install it how should i install it? Through normal XMB Menu or Recovery?

you can run hombrew on dex m8 install it threw recovery but you can brick your ps3 by installing this

I was looking at it before another website and it said, this doesnt cause any damage if you install it? i doubt it'l be possible but will you be able to run 3.55 signed app's?

many say it can it depends how it reacts to your system. Yes you could still run pkgs from 3.55 as you no9t required 4.00+ pkgs to assign to the firmware.

yeh i get ye,so it all depend's on the system i wanna be installing games and shit again,and modding everything. Im to scared to do it
