Now this method has to be followed BY THE LETTER!!! AND I ONLY NO IT WILL REPAIR YOUR PS3 IF YOU CANT DO ANYTHING WITH IT IE
THE PS3S I HAVE DONE THIS ON WHEN YOU TURN THEM ON THEY BEEP 10 TIMES LIKE A SIREN THEN SHUT OFF YOU CANT EVEN GET INTO SERVICE MODE

THIS WILL REFORMAT YOUR HARDDRIVE BUT ITS A SMALL PRICE TO PAY TO REPAIR A PS3 PAPERWEIGHT

i decided to release this as my buddy as of tonight (11-4-2012) has done this to his console by trying to switch from dex to cex..
i have been experimenting with this for a few days now and i have tested it 4 times and it worked on all 4 consoles..

what you will need is this..

-TI-84 Calculator (i use a plus) .. now your thinking great we're going back to calculators again?!!

-PS3Jailbreak version 0.08 (which is the last build to the ti-84 jailbreak) AND IT NEEDS TO BE THIS VERSION

-a flashdrive

-Lv2Diag.self (414k)
-Lv2Diag.self (356k)
-Rogero v3.8 355 cfw

I HAVE NO IDEA IF ANY OTHER ITEMS WILL WORK I USED A CALCULATOR SO THATS WHY I AM TELLING YOU TO DO THE SAME

Ok so lets get started....
what you are going to do is install the ps3jailbreak onto your calculator and you are going to go to the apps
and open it up on the calculator. After the splash screen you will see on the top of the calculator (PS3JB 0.0
IF YOU DONT THEN YOU HAVE THE WRONG VERSION

Next go into the options which is 5. set the calculator to this
Stage 1 Payload: NONE
Stage 2 Payload: NONE
FW Compat. Opts: NONE
Turn off after: 300 secs
Use Device 6?: NO
Emulate jig?: YES

Now hit save and go to main menu of PS3JB

Press 1 and then connect the calculator into the right port of the ps3 (usb0)
Then turn your ps3 on then RIGHT AFTER you hit the power button press the eject button..

IF THIS IS DONE CORRECTLY YOUR PS3 WILL NOT DO THE 10 BEEPS THAT SOUNDS LIKE SIRENS..

So once you do this correctly we now set up the flash drive..
Plug it into your computer and rename the rogero v3.8cfw to PS3UPDAT.PUP and place it into the ROOT of your flashdrive
Now also place the Lv2Diag.self (356k version) onto the root also..

Place the flashdrive into your ps3 on the right most usb port (usb0) and turn your ps3 on then press the eject right after again..
(DURING ALL OF THESE STEPS YOU WILL NEVER AND I REPEAT NEVER SEE ANYTHING COME ONTO YOUR SCREEN SO DONT BE AFRAID!!! I WAS AT FIRST
after the ps3 does its thing for a while it will shut off... When it does take your flashdrive out and place it into your computer you should
have a txt document on the flash drive just take it off the drive and then remove the Lv2Diag.self and replace it with the 414k version

Now turn your ps3 on with nothing in the usb ports .. You should see it boot up and see rogero then the xmb.. if you do you will notice it says
factory service mode.. then turn your ps3 off via controller.. put the flash drive back into the ps3 and turn it on and you should have the ps3
beep once then turn off.. remove the flash drive and turn it back on and YOUR DONE

YOUR PS3 IS NO LONGER STUCK IN SOME RANDOM BRICK WHERE IT JUST BEEPS AND BEEPS THEN SHUTS OFF..

You should post what you did what those Lv2Diag.self's, I think all you did was edit the cfg or something so that installs the firmware but if not then I cant recall, and PS3jailbreak was ported to many other devices so It might work with others. Good tutorial though.

i no the jailbreak has been ported to other things but like i said in tut im not sure what would work.. i just know the calculator does.. i pretty much combined a few different things i have done in the past to "try" something and it worked.. i have a few consoles to mess with (since i run a repair shop) and i decided to mess with some things.. and i no how difficult switching from dex to cex or atleast how people are scared so i tried to mess up my console to see if i can "unbrick it" as i had this idea and it indeed worked.. i can upload all the files in a bit ... im not really sure if alot or anyone else has ever had this type of brick..

I don't know if anyone else has had this type of brick, I can tell you this method can solve all kinds of semi-brick issues. I've done this several times using the 3.55 OFW.

Can you use a jailbroken iPhone instead of a calculator like you could for the 3.41 jailbreak?

As long as it supports the jig which pushes factory service mode.

or you can just use a hardware flasher.
