Hello NGU! Today I am officially announcing project unpack. This project is where about 20 people get together on skype and try to decrypt unpack and re-encrypt a backup .dat file! If you want to join add me on skype. Skype: Jborgadog

You must know how to code!

There is NO failing in this project! You MUST commit!

If we Unpack a Backup, we will be able to change out the patches of the backup so there would be no use for 3.55 to mod anymore Smile

Hurah!
What would be the advantage of this particular activity ? Backedup games are not activated. you need to reactivate them if you restore. So the only thing you can get out of it would be locked games saves. And there are easier method to doing so. Not that its too difficult. It uses a static key and a straight forward obfuscation method to create the backups. But the point of the effort evades me :impatient:

Yeah, not sure if you will be able to do anything with it. Although if they do get it, it would be cool to see what's possible if anything.

lol, code what ?
and do you?

i see you asking about how to unpack .dat files, its not that simple - .dat is only the file extension, encryption / compression isnt the same in all.

Lol, let me just say, good luck with that. don't think any real coders are going to want to join, hence we all have Jailbroken PS3's already, whether it be DEX/CEX/REX, 3.41/3.55/4.21/4.25/4.30/4.31 etc. I don't think we would really enjoy any random 10 year old running around the Call Of Duty Franchise with annoying so called "mods". that's just me talking. Oh and btw, pretty sure there are already like 5 tools for that...
