It could be a number of factors, but yea, i think that multiple ID detection is one they probably use.
I was using it myself, and both the accounts i was using it on got banned. Neither was played online, not a single game.
The first one i synced a couple of games, and the second i did nothing whatsoever, not even synced a single trophy and it got banned.
So, playing black ops 2 or syncing trophies i dont think is the problem, as i never did either on one of the accounts.
Maybe i was unlucky, and got banned just because i was using ps_unban, or maybe they detect the homebrew a lot easier now, after last weeks maintenance. And i never really abused the plats on the first account, and usually was never online for more than a couple of minutes.
It sucks, but hey, we play with fire, we should expect to get burnt.
I have a real, private Console ID, that i will be trying to use, but will be a lot more carefull now as to what homebrew i use.
If you do use multiman, make sure you use stealth multiman, and be sure to clear all you history before logging on PSN.
There's a thread posted somewhere, where its explained perfectly on how to be sensible when using CFW whilst logged into PSN.
I myself follow a few simple rules.
1. Have no homebrew installed except stealth MultiMan, whilst on PSN.
2. Have no modified eboots, hacks, game mods etc., whilst on PSN.
3. Never use homebrew whilst on PSN!
4. Load up a game from MultiMAN (which automatically clears history for you) and then log on to PSN.....
5. Not sure it helps but MultiMAN likes to add files to your game directory, so make the game folder for each game you play 'read only' (especially for Black Op 2).
Following these simple steps, I have been using CFW for these past few years and haven't been banned from PSN thus far, even though I play Black Op 2 everyday.
Side note: Not saying this a fool proof method... I'm sure my time is coming. :nerd:
