(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey if you are not sure what XBSLink is then take a look at there website You must login or register to view this content.

If you don't know what this program does then I will quickly explain... ok for example say you are banned from psn or just want to do some mods or something.. then this program will allow you to connect to people via LAN Game(LAN Option is only in certain games which is the only downside in this program). When using this program there is NO Chance of being banned and you can play freely and do what you want

Requirements:
1) Time
2) An Ethernet Cable
3) A Computer that is connected to internet Via Wi-Fi (I am not sure how to setup xbslink any other way)
Note: this tutorial is for windows if you are trying to use Linux or Mac I can not help you

Be sure to allow xbslink through the firewall :p

Ok firstly you will need to install XBSLink which can be found here for MAC/Linux Or Windows You must login or register to view this content. Please Note if installing on windows 8 you will need to ignore the Compatibility Message that shows when it tries to install winpcap... if winpcap is not installed XBSLink will not start

Firstly you will need to go into Network And sharing center (right click wifi icon>Open Network And Sharing Center) then on the left in the sidebar click on "Change Adapter Settings" you will something like this
You must login or register to view this content.

now what you want to do is right click on your wireless network connection and click the sharing tab and click the first box then go back into properties and then you need to double click on "Internet Protocal Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)"
You must login or register to view this content.

You will see something like this
You must login or register to view this content.

All you need to do is copy the settings in this picture (if your router is 192.168.1.1 or 10.1.1.1 etc then use that instead of 192.168.0.X)
You must login or register to view this content.

now on your ps3 you will need to connect the ethernet cable from your ps3 to your pc/laptop then go to network settings > custom > wired connection, now just keep going across till you get to IP Address Setting and chose manual then copy the picture below (again if your router is 10.1.1.1 then use 10.1.1.2 in default router and 10.1.1.XX in ip address same with 192.168.1.X)
You must login or register to view this content.

Now that you have set up all the ip and dns things you need to configure XBSLink, firstly start off by opening it if you havnt already (you will probably getting a message saying it doesnt work well with wireless cards or something just ignore it and click ok)
now in xbslink go to the settings tab (feel free to change the username) then click the button that says network you should see a bunch of options, firstly you will need to get the mac address of your ps3 which can be found in Settings > System Settings > System Information now in xbslink write the mac address into the box next to the mac address part and click add (you dont need to add : in the mac address) once its added copy these settings(In xbslink do not choose the 192.168.137.X one as it will cause errors be sure to choose your ethernet for the connection but for the ip use your computers ip. E.g 192.168.0.11 Smile)
also be sure not to copy my MAC Address as you need your own for it to work, if your mac address is typed in wrong then this will cause a lot of problems
You must login or register to view this content.

now that is basically all you need to do, be sure to click start engine in the top corner aswell(if you get an error about it cant reach the internet because the port is closed, just click ok, its just telling you that you cant host games/people cant join you) now just go into "Clouds" click load and join some people. If you wish to host your own lobby's/servers/clouds then you will need to port forward port 31415 to your computers ip address (my ip address is 192.168.0.11, so if yours is 10.1.1.42 then you forward the port to that)

Hope this tutorial helps anyone that doesnt want to use PSN or is banned from PSN
XBSLink will work on any PS3 (DEX/CEX/OFW)

FAQ

Q. XBSLink Won't Let Me Create Clouds
A. Make sure you have forwarded port 31415 and you allowed xbslink through the firewall, be sure to double check your setup aswell

Q. I cannot see any games to join
A. This is most likely because you have set up the connection from your ps3 to pc wrong or no one is hosting in the cloud you are in

Q. In the info tab why are players names green or red
A. If the players name is green it means they are in the game, if the name is red then they are not in a game

Ok so to host you need to port forward the port 31415(port xbslink uses) with this port open it will allow others to join you. If you do not want to host then don't worry about port forwarding as it won't affect your connection to other people

Yes on x link Kai most the users on it are for psp :L xbslink has a few ps3 members including myself :p
But xbslink isn't as known as x link Kai so hopefully this thread will help it grow.

The main difference between x link Kai and xbslink is that xbslink is much simpler to setup Smile

when you get to the part where you need to choose the ip you use DO not choose the ps3's ip as this causes problems when trying to host choose your computers ip e.g 192.168.0.11 Smile

thanks

NThis has been out there for awhile now . Good to see others "hopefully more" take interest as I did. No risk at all of being banned as stated . I have no problem joining or hosting on XBSlink or Xlink kai as long as all players are on the same console patch. Also I don't see a lot of lag issues as seen on psn other than people's internet speed being slow. BTW nice tutorial . Thnx for sharing
