[How to do it]
[USB Drive]---(Make an new folder and call it PS3)--[PS3]------(Make a new folder called UPDATE)--[UPDATE]---(Then drop the reverter into the UPDATE folder)--[PS3UPDAT.PUP]

I was wondering cuz then how retailers were able to install the pkgs onto it like Kyntt underground, Ni no kuni & Sly Cooper 4 demos? it probably needs specific kiosk type only pkgs exclusive for that firmware i'm guessing.

P.S btw is it also possible to modify xml files of the kiosk firmware like able to add a xmb file manager to it in the main menu?

no, you cant mod the XML file for the XMB because you need to unpack and repack the firmware which is impossible for 3.56>, demos only work because they have no license file to activate and kiosk firmware uses a different pkg header, thats why it fails to install

oh okay i see but i don't see why it can't be installed if kiosk firmwares are easily installable on ofw PS3s if modded through MFW Builder (since it's possible & works perfectly) imo. and about the pkgs do you happen to know it's pkg header by anychance?

a retail to kiosk mod is only a update_flags.txt mod
nothing in the Dev-Flash or firmware files, it basically tricks the console to let it think it is a retail update because the update flags are "retail"

Where did you find this Smile ?

When ur update ur ps3 exadantly to a Kiosk version u cant get out of it, this will limit ur abilitys as a "normal ps3 user/consumer" Kiosk firmwares is ran on ps3's in stores and such and has this firwmare so u cant screw with the display ps3. For some reason people start to be "funny"and trick people in that the Kiosk firmware update was a CFW update or such. Those people who fellt for it are stuck in the kiosk firmware and with this reverter" u can get out.

HOped this helped

hmm, i understand now thanks for the info master0wn3r, but anyways about the Kiosk Install Package Files option any idea how to install pkgs since you mentioned it needs a pkg header exclusively for Kiosk firmware only? Do you have any pkgs on you to test it & will i be able to install a homebrew app with that header to my XMB also? Thanks!
