Made this video a few days ago and wanted to share it with the community. I've tried to make this very noob friendly by making it step by step on how to install and downgrade the PS3 with an E3 flasher. This includes how to verify your dump/back ups and how to patch up dumps with No FSM required. I know my MAC address is displayed, I have many PS3, so I don't mind relinquishing one for the sake of educational purposes.

This video was done on 4.46OFW and YES if you're on 4.50 and 4.53....Follow the same steps but use the 4.50 files that I've provided.

ive got my ps3 set up exactly how you have it but once i turn my ps3 on to update the flasher it gives me the ylod.. everything is connected except the blu ray drive. im sure the cpu and gpu are making contact with the heatsinks as ive used the cardboard like you did.

Ps3 works normally once i disconnect the e3 flasher from the NOR Chip

using this on a cech-2001a slim

yea i fixed it. its now giving me an error when i try to make back ups: backup PS3 BIOS.
fail to initialize E3 Nor. If i use the clip alone the 1 5 6 blue led lights just keep blinking. ive tried multiple times re inserting clip, adding pressure, taping a coin on top, etc but everytime i try to apply tape it would give me the RSOD or there wouldnt be any blue led lights blinking at all when trying to back up

Thanks man. Im now successfully on Rogero 4.50 thanks to you. i really appreciate all your help.
Also when i try to reinstall the cfw it works when i go to settings but doesn't let me do so via recovery mode for some reason, it gives me an infinite checking for storage media screen. I read somewhere that its better to install the cfw twice just incase of errors. Thanks again

Cool!!!!!
What worked for ya? What did you do for pressure on the clip?
Plug in the blu-ray to get off the infinite checking thing
Yeah it is good it will update the syscon, but to be sure I always downgrade to 3.55 and then QA flag

I used sandpaper to grind down some plastic off the top left corner of the clip and used the micro sd card adapter to apply pressure on the clip the entire time while making my back UPS and flashing. I tried empty pill bottles with coins, with books on top but none of it worked. I literally had to push down on the clip almost my hardest the entire time. If I stopped applying full pressure just for one second I would get a bad dump. After it was done flashing it was giving me some errors when trying to install cfw so i removed the e3 flasher, removed the power cord, turned the system on and off a couple of times and kept trying and it eventually worked. Do you recommend I downgrade to 3.55 and reinstall the firmware as I would like to stay on rogero 4.50 or would a system update via recovery mode be enough? Everything was working fine before, but now my ps3 keeps getting a black screen everytime i quit a game, or update a game/ while on this black screen everything is frozen and i have to hold down the power button. what could be the problem? I also got a fat blister on my finger during the flashing proccess haha

Hi folks!
I successfully went through the steps in this tutorial. I now have rogero cfw 4.50 v1.01 installed. I was going from stock 4.50 fw.

I try to install the latest version of multiMAN (04.46.01) and all I get is a black screen when it loads. The same is true for any previous versions I am installing. Do I NEED to downgrade to 3.55 firmware and go from there? I ask because I had to solder everything and will have to desolder it all to get my console back together (the unit I bought came damaged so I had to borrow some parts... will likely be getting the unit returned or swapped). Any help is appreciated. Have done quite a bit of reading, but I am new to the ps3 mod scene Smile

You might wanna grab the newest version on Multiman: You must login or register to view this content.
Do you have the blu-ray plugged in or is the blu-ray working?
Are any other homebrew giving you the same result which is the black screen?
