Anyways, if you didn't know, when you have a game it's always either BLUS, or BLES (most cases)

its also sometimes NPU, and others. I'm going to be telling you how to change it to a different region.

This is good for games like GTA 5 where some tools or rpf's require a certain region.


So lets get started.

First, the things you need to make sure you have is
1. A jailbroken PS3
2. Param.SFO editor (links will be at the bottom)
3. A backup of whatever game you're going to change the region too.
4. The exact region code you're going to change it too (it HAS to be exact or it won't work correctly)


So, assuming you've backed up your game, downloaded the SFO editor, and have the region that you're going to change the game too ready..

Go into your FTP or any file manager of your choice. (on the PS3 Obviously)

Locate the directory in which the game is in.

for me i'm going to go into my GAMES folder on my external.

I'll change MW3 to BLES.

So, once you've gotten into your directory, it should look like this:

Click on PS3_GAME.

You'll now see some directories, and some files.

Locate the Param.SFO, and download it to your desktop(or whatever is easier)

Once you have that, you can minimize filezilla for now (dont close it or quit the FTP connection, you're going to need it later on!

Go ahead and open up PARAM.SFO editor.

Load up the param.sfo that you downloaded...

Now, you see where it says "Title I" at the top left corner? In the textbox, you add the region.

In my case it'd be...

You can do anything else you want with the SFO as well. but for the sake of this tutorial, im just changing the region.

Now, the reason i said it has to be the EXACT one, is because if you have it wrong by even one character, you will not be able to download that regions patch. It'll either make you download a different games, or not prompt you at all.

Now that we've changed the region, go ahead and save the file.

Go back to your FTP.

Make a backup of the original Param.sfo (just in case you want to switch back.)

after you've made a backup, transfer the new Param and load the game!

If done correctly you will be prompted to update your game like so:

update the game like usual, and run the game!

I didn't download the update, but ill show you that I have two MW3 Game data icons.

FAQ:

My DLC isn't showing up, why?

you still have your BLUS dlc, but you'll need to install the BLES dlc.

Will my stats and rank be the same?

Yes.

I lost my progress in my game, what happened?

Like the dlc, the save data is also region based. However, save data can be changed to the region as well. Because it also uses a param.sfo

Where can I find the region code I'm looking for?
