Hey guys, now before you post stupid comments or groan my thread, i'm letting you know this thread is for people who are having trouble connecting their tools to their PS3's due to the new update. So let's begin this noob-friendly tutorial
Hey guys, so because of the new update for CCAPI most of you have been frustrated as to why your tools wont connect or attach. Well Enstone  has created a new update for his CCAPI and now includes the ability to save console names and IPs. It also added support for more CFW's. If you are not on CFW then stop reading this, as it does not pertain to you. I'm sure most of you have been getting an error saying you have an incompatible version of CCAPI. So I'm here to help guide you through the process of setting up CCAPI 2.50 as it's not the same as before. I will include 2 tutorials: How to setup 2.50 CCAPI, and how to convert your tools to 2.50. As always, thanks for reading <3
What you will need:
- CCAPI 2.50 setup and pkg files
- 4.21,4.30,4.40,4.41,4.46,4.50,4.53,4.55 CEX CFW or DEX CFW
- PS3Lib v4.3 dynamic link library (DLL)
*Links are always at the bottom
Setting up for CCAPI 2.50
Step 1:
On your ps3, if you haven't already, open your CCAPI 2.00 installer and uninstall CCAPI version 2.00. Then once you have reboot your ps3, delete the CCAPI 2.00 installer off your ps3 as you will not need this anymore.
Step 2:
Download the CCAPI 2.50 setup and pkg files from the link I have provided. Once the CcApi_package_2.50.rar file has downloaded, open it up and extract XX0001-ENSTONEXX_00-00000000000CCAPIv2.50.pkg onto your USB. Now install this pkg on your PS3, run it, and install like normal.
Step 3:
Now in the CcApi_package_2.50.rar file you will find a file called CCAPI-setupV2.5.exe. You will have to run this program and install it. I provided a virus scan, if needed. I recommend that you do not change the installation folder from program files as this might cause bugs with your PS3Lib. Once the installer is done, you now have installed the CCAPI Program on your PC. You
WILL need to restart your PC before connecting or attaching your tools, otherwise your tool will throw an exception error that it is unable to load CCAPI.dll.
Step 4
Once computer has restarted, run ControlConsole API program on your computer. You will notice a lot of changes. But for now, on the top left you will see 'File'. This is how you add new consoles to your program. Click 'File' and then click 'Add new console'. It will prompt you for the PS3's IP Address and then ask you to name this console. The program will now add the console to the list. Next, right click the console you want and choose 'Connect / Set as active'. You will get a prompt saying either "Connection Failed" or "Set 'Console Name' as Active". You have now connected your console.
Step 5:
Now in the tool you want to use, make sure there is no CCAPI.dll or this will cause bugs and that you have PS3Lib v4.3 dll in the folder. If you have done all that then you have successfully updated to CCAPI 2.50.
Converting any CCAPI 2.00 tool to 2.50
Step 1:
In the tool folder delete the CCAPI.dll and the PS3Lib.dll. Then add PS3Lib v4.3 dll to the folder.
Step 2:
If you have successfully updated to 2.50 then run the tool. Test the connect feature. You will notice a big difference. If you have added your PS3 in the Control Console API Program, you will see your console in the list. Otherwise do step 4 above. Just double click on your console and it will try and connect
Step 3:
You've successfully converted the tool to CCAPI 2.50. Like seriously even a caveman could do it
