(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); hello ngu, im going to show you how to boot Windows 98 or lower on the PS3, as previous tutorial are pretty outdated (which i found on the net +-3yrs).

Things we need:
* Dosbox for PS3 - You must login or register to view this content.
* Windows image - You must login or register to view this content. (i provide a windows 95 image as they are not that big) make sure when transfering this image it has 777 permissions ifnot it might cause errors
* A mouse and keyboard
* Any 4.xx CFW

lets get started
first we download and install Dosbox you might want to run it to check if it works.
in the meantime we download the W95.img file.

now we have the W95.img file, we put it on usb or just transfer it over make sure its in the following folder:
dev_hdd0/game/HBDB90000/USERDIR , inside the USERDIR folder we make a folder called "WIN95" so we have the following structure dev_hdd0/game/HBDB90000/USERDIR/WIN95/W95.img.

You must login or register to view this content.

the USERDIR folder is going to function as the C: drive on the ps3

now boot DosBox and plug in your mouse and keyboard.
when DosBox is launched we need to execute some commands in order to mount the image.

    first:
type "mount c ~/"

second:
now type "C:"

third:
type "cd WIN95"

fourth:
type "imgmount a w95.img"

fifth
type "boot w95.img"

now you wait a few seconds and Windows 95 image will appear on your screen Smile

Windows XP or higher wont work using this method

im sorry if the post is messy, making threads is not something which im good at

Isn't it really slow? I mean Windows 7 on a PS3 is supposedly unbearable, but having used 95/98/2000 oh so long ago, I remember it being painfully slow. Maybe that'd because of the dial up connection? lol So can you use Windows 2000 as well?
