this is how i did it to anyone unsure:

recommended backup or dump to usb before starting.
If you are already on a 4.66 FW then you dont need to swap to HABIB

change to HABIB 4.66 CFW: 4.66 HABIB v1.01: Now with PS3 Manager APIi Support, Stealth Extensions & dev_flash folders renamed - PSX Place
(if link doesnt work, look online, HABIB 4.66 download)

1. download, put on usb drive in folders (PS3 -> UPDATE) then rename the .PUP file as PS3UPDAT.PUP (this all has to be right)

2. plug into ps3, go to settings -> system update -> from storage media and it should search and find the .PUP file, if it doesnt, make sure step 1 is all correct. follow instructions and install. ps3 will reboot and when it does it will look like you are on OFW but you are not, check system settings to make sure you are on 4.66.

3. Now download ARCH spoof to get to 4.70: ARCH 4.70 Spoof v1.13
put on root of usb drive, go to multiman, and install.
follow instructions and do a HARD REBOOT. go to system info and check to make sure you are on 4.70.

4. that is all you have to do. i also use psn ninja and psn patch before going online : PSNpatch v4.66.30 - New Enhanced Cobra Mode and more by KW - PSX Place

5. on psn patch hit triangle, so cfw is disabled and exit, do this last before signing in. psn ninja hit 1st, 3rd and 5th option and exit.

there is still always a chance of getting banned.

I did all that and it says I am on 4.70 in system, but when I try to log-in it still says do update? Can you help?

Are you actually on 4.70 or spoofed?

when you check system info it will say 4.70 if you are spoofed or actually on it. you can check on psnpatch, it will say 4.66 (spoofed 4.70) or just 4.70.

when the new firmware is released you may as well already be on HABIB 4.66 instead of having to do it further down the track

So I should change to HABIB? Is there spoof for it now?
