(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So guys , iv'e been on NGU for maybe 4 or 5 years now and things have shifted i know my account says 2014 but whatever straight to point who thinks modding has changed since the (2010-2013/Original Modders/Coders) VS the new and upcoming modders where only a select few knows how to use there jailbreak at all you go in lobby now on any game that's hack-able the whole room knows your cheating now before anything happens because everyone now has a jailbreak and shows it off but my honest opinion BAN RISK was a lot lower back in the days because sony had a little more tolerance for jailbroken consoles then now you wanna know WHY well it's because the modding community wasn't as big my estimated guess is that there's nearly 50,000-100,000 or more jailbreak consoles out in the world now let's be real people that has jailbreak now doesn't even know the difference between hacking and modding or editing and coding only thing that i see there really good at is booting people offline mostly tearsCrying

Ive been on NGU since 2012 and modding , coding, hacking is changed a lot. I remember the old times people jailbreaking their ps3 for playing backed up games but now a fucking 11-12 years old kids jailbreaking for modding and they dont even know modding all they do is using srcipts and exploding the lobby and have a fun, i mean its changed a lot i miss the old days :(

Maybe something should be done to push the community in the right direction. Like people who code should choose worthy newer people to be a part of a team. Kinda like a modding/hacking class where the teacher can guide the students in the right direction. Students should donate when able too. Also I think there should be more work towards modding what characters look Like in the Nintendo modding community, jump in a lobby with a different outfit or look then others would be cool and harmless. Also with more teams working together maybe tools and menus could get made fore other kinds of games other than GTA and Call of Duty which is one of the reasons I made a thread where people can add their tools for different games and also request tools for games they would like to see. Being new to the community myself I would like to see new Ideas and growth between everyone PBJT

ya it is a shame what modding has become, a tool to just show off, Doss people off because you can.

Modding in the beginning of my years when i first started was just to learn something new and to help expand new ideas & possibilities.

the modding scene used to be about just learning & sharing knowledge freely, exploring ideas together. but now every one is either hogging all the codes to themselves or trying to rip of one another. + throw in the 11 year olds in the mix thinking they cool coz they know how to DOX by using some silly little tool.. just to gain some Rep or to be heard..

i still see some good modders out there, giving a helping hand when needed most, guiding young minds and helping them along the way. i try myself to give and share as much as i can either in knowledge or giving something back to community. i have helped a lot young minds out there. i may not be a coder but i am quick study, good an problem solving and fixing most issues related to many popular platforms out there...

like You must login or register to view this content. said we need the new generation to be guided towards the right path. the community could Thrive, but the way i see it, it is slowly dying out. we don't need people who hog every thing to themselves just to keep their Rep High...

i have had my fair share of people who give excuses to try to keep there Found Research a secret just so they can earn either money from people or keep them in groups of "Upper Class Coders Or Modders" Greed and taunting people will only get you so far, showing off and unwilling to teach and guide others isn't the way to go.

i know people have valid reasons for not releasing everything they learn but still helping and pointing people in the right direction & giving a helping hand will ensure the Modding scene survives passing down knowledge from one generation to the next...

now in terms of Skills or area's like Coders, Or Crackers, Pirates etc.. i can understand why some people wouldn't share how they do some of the things or share what they have learned. i my self feel this way due to the lack of enthusiasm within the current state of the community.. i believe others feel this way to. like if i released everything i know on Cracking Games or Game Content or how to Crack all SEN content. we will see many 11 year olds or kids trying to reproduce this and may do it wrong or rush the work, so they can just make them selves feel good and gain Reputation.

the Current state is: Copy other's work, try and take the easy path, do things without thinking it through just to become Popular and become Number 1. the Modding scene is a competition a way to get noticed and to show off to others that i am Number 1, so that i gain many friends and feel good about my self.

that is the way i see it from the current generation of Kids these days..

i belive in a future where every one is open and sharing everything they learn without hesitation or the need of showing off, further expanding each others knowledge and skills is a better reward then trying to be Number 1.

and in terms of Rep & being heard i prefer to do it the right way as in doing something productive in giving something back to the community or helping and teaching others.

I've always wanted to see mods for the Arkham series, Portal 1&2, or even Prince of Persia, but sadly, it's all gotta be about GTA around here. :( Shark, I think, was the only one to attempt anything on Portal, but he removed his tool. With that tool, we could've just used server codes to have "portal on any surface", etc. But if you wanna see something cool, watch this:

While the PC modding community is able to bring other guns from other games (Destiny, AW, BO2, etc.) to Black Ops 1, as well as the beginnings of custom zombies on BO1, the modding community for BO1 on consoles is dead. Would the processes be more difficult to on consoles? Hell yes! But worth it? Sure. Though, I doubt anybody could play with you, since you'd be replacing game files.

Haven't seen a single tool for Arkham even though it's such a popular series. :/ I'd love so much to have noclip and explore all three games. :(
