It's really easy, and all you have to do is figure out what your doing wrong.

First of all, Your trying to go to Dex, Dex is a debug/developer firmware for ps3.
If you don't really know how to do this, you shouldn't even change to Dex theres no point really.

*Change Dex to Cex

1. Unspoof everything, This can also cause unknown errors, but is fixed when restarted, but its best to unspoof.
2 Open rebug toolbox, Make a backup to usb, & dump to hdd
3. Change lvl2 type to dex and switch kernal to dex.

* Now, if you notice you will get an online error after restart, this is normal.

4. Install CCAPI 2.60 REV4
5. Using ccapi on your computer, set your idps and psid and have it set to change on boot.

6. Instead of 4 & 5 just get IRISMAN, Load IRISMAN, Press start go to tools, spoof console id, then set console idps and psid to default then sign into online, but you got to do this every ps3 restart

- Your all done, Your DEX

*Update Firmware to DEX

1. Unspoof everything, This can also cause unknown errors, but is fixed when restarted but its best to unspoof.
2. Open rebug toolbox. Make a backup of your eid to your usb.
3. Make sure Q&A is toggled, or you could get a possible brick
4. dump your eid *Not to usb but hdd
5. Set your lvl2 to dex and switch your kernel to dex.
6. Restart and update to 4.70.1 D-Rex.
7. Install cobra tools and install webman and webman mod.
8. Enable cobra mode so that webman will load on start without a prx loader in rebug toolbox.
9. If you want to use webman go into webman and make sure your id and psid change on boot using webman is checked. *I havnt really got this working, I used CCAPI step 10.
11. If you didnt do step 9, Install ccapi 2.60 rev4
10. If you didnt do step 9, open ccapi on your computer and enter your cid and psid and set it to change on boot

12. Instead of 11 & 10 just get IRISMAN, Load IRISMAN, Press start go to tools, spoof console id, then set console idps and psid to default then sign into online, but you got to do this every ps3 restsart.

Your all done, You dont need no patches, no spoof. Play online with 4.70 dex. If your cex, Keep your patches and spoof, you'll need it.

Remember, Dex isnt nothing but a debug firmare. Cex is best for non developers.

Everyone already knows how to convert and there are already 100's of tuts. This is pointless!
