How to make the backups
download the pkg files(mostly you'll going to need the patches, I'll be using GTA IV 1.8 patch) - GTA IV BLES00229:You must login or register to view this content./BLUS30127:You must login or register to view this content.
open pkgview and find your pkg file, then rightclick and hit extract to source
open the extracted folder and replace the update.img with a modded one
format your ps3 and then back it up or download this one(GTA IV) You must login or register to view this content.and You must login or register to view this content.
open PeXploit lite and load your backup
click load package(s) then select the BLES/BLUS folder(s) that you just modified
then click patch and go and PeXploit lite will install the pkg
after it tells you you can restore your backup put your USB back into your ps3 and go to*settings/system settings/backup/restore then choose your modded backup and go

How to dump a backup:
Open pexploit v0.8
click advanced
load your backup and wait for it to say copy completed in the bottom right hand corner of the program
go to the extras tab and click advanced methods
click dump backup
a message will show saying your backup has been dumped after its done
in the pexploit folder there will be a folder called EXTRACTED with all your files
in the game folder you will find all your game updates
no need for PKGview not just continue from step 3 of the tutorial above
NOTE:This is just an tutorial so your files wont be the same as GTA IV.
NOTE: You may or may not get banned but to not get banned dont use mods too much online!

Yet I Highly UN-Recommend doing this for anyone. What happens if you get banned on a ofw? theres no way to change your Cid, or if you account gets banned you cant change the psid.

What I recommend doing is making sure your ps3 is downgrade-able, buying an e3 flasher downgrade your system then use a sprx like lts or serpendity

You wont get banned unless you do something stupid online.

Some dude sold me a usb mod menu for gta on ebay, He said i would never get bricked only if found out i will be banned from rockstar for two weeks only ? Any tips on where a decent 3Enor flasher kit would be sold at reasonable prices please ? what ps3 serial numbers can't be jailbroken please ?

People have been data transferring for years, it's no different.

Theres a big risk for doing this though. going offline and doing that's fine but when your going online and modding without a spoofer or any protection its near impossible to get unbanned without jailbreaking your ps3 console.
