So i Used to post alot about CFW for PS3 Users. I have Recently had a lot of Messages on here about Help with CFW. So in this Guide i am going to show you what i use and what i do... Yes there is REBUG 4.78.2 out but i use REBUG 4.78.1.. As this is the safer option in my opinion.. Right.... Lets Start.

Lets get started by preparing a flash drive for use with a CFW PS3.

How to prepare a USB flash drive for use with a CFW / Jailbroken PS3

1. plug into your computer
2. right click the drive and click format
3. format as fat32
4. make a folder called PS3
5. make a folder called UPDATE inside the PS3 folder
6. DONE!
7. Next Step!

Great!! Now we can go ahead and install Rebug 4.78.1 REX (CEX) to the 3.55 OFW or JB PS3

How to install Rebug 4.78.1 REX - for new 3.55 OFW ModzLink customers or any other CEX user.

This video will show you how to upgrade any CEX PS3 or 3.55 OFW (QA flagged) console to Rebug 4.78.1 REX CFW.

1. Have a 3.55 OFW or CEX JB PS3
2. Format a USB flash drive as FAT32
3. Download rebug 4.78.1 REX and use the video to help you transfer the file to the USB drive.
4. Install the CFW to your PS3

How to toggle QA a PS3 running 4.21 or higher CFW

Rebug CFW users

1. go to rebug toolbox
2. go to the utilities section
3. enable the QA flag
4. DONE

Other CFW users

1. download habib's qa toggle pkg
2. install the pkg to your ps3
3. run the application on your ps3
4. DONE

Now your PS3 has a bit more protection against bricking and it can upgrade and downgrade between CFW's! Now lets try getting online with Rebug 4.78.1 REX!

How to get online with Rebug 4.78.1 REX

1. download psnpatch and psninja
2. install these packages
3. run psninja (or skip it)
4. run psnpatch
5. get online
6. DONE!

DO NOT RUN HOMEBREW APPLICATIONS WHILE YOU'RE ONLINE.
DO NOT COMPLAIN IF YOU GET BANNED USING THIS TUTORIAL. USING A MODIFIED ONSOLE ONLINE IS NEVER GOING TO BE 'SAFE'.

How to switch from CEX to DEX using Rebug CFW

This tutorial will work with any version of rebug cfw of or above 4.65.2 REX

1. Download your destination DEX CFW (In this video we use rebug 4.78.1 D-REX)
2. Transfer the PUP file to your USB flash drive
3. Bootup the PS3 and go to rebug toolbox
4. Go to the utilities section and down to dump your EID_ROOT_KEY
5. Go to rebug toolbox and go to the CEX / DEX section
6. Change the target ID
7. swap the LV2 kernel
8. install a DEX CFW of your choice (rebug 4.78.1 D-REX in this case)
9. DONE - You are now on DEX CFW

How to get online with Rebug 4.78.1 D-REX

1. download psnpatch and psninja

3. set your ps3id in rebug toolbox
4. run psninja (or skip it)
5. run psnpatch
6. get online
7. DONE

Method 2 (may not work for everyone)

1. go to rebug toolbox
2. enable cobra mode and webman
3. change type to rebug instead of normal mode
4. reboot the console
5. set webman to load the last played game, set your idps / psid and wipe history and disable cfw after booting updating
6. save settings and reboot
7. turn the console on and wait for webman to do it's job
8. get online
9. DONE

I have a question. I installed Habib 4.78 cex a few weeks ago and was able to get online fine. Today I was playing online in the morning and when I try to play again in the afternoon I wasn't able to sign in. It said there was a system update that I needed to do. I installed Arch spoof 4.78 but couldn't use it with Habib 4.78 because the spoof doesn't support the firmware. So, I then install ferrox 4.78 to see if Habib was the problem but the same thing happened on Ferrox. Afterwards, I tried to downgrade to 4.76 so the spoofer could work with it but I keep getting the corrupted file error halfway through updating the firmware. I've tried many pup files and get the same error. So, now I'm on Rebug 4.78 Rex and I'm still getting the notice that there's a system update I need to do whenever I try to sign in to PSN. I'm stuck on cfw 4.78 and toggle QA is enabled but I can't downgrade to an earlier cfw. So frustrating, anyone have any ideas what's going on?

-There is a new update out 4.80...
-There is NO Spoofer for the latest 4.80 update out yet.
-The only way online right now is to switch to Dex or wait for a new spoofer

I can't get online either anyone know when 4.80 update is coming out?

Lol, I'm facepalming myself so hard right now. I just started using my ps3 again a few weeks ago that's why I upgraded the firmware to 4.78 from 4.70. I thought the latest OFW was 4.78 and was surprised Habib already had a 4.78 CFW out. I didn't realized the current OFW was 4.80, smh lol. I was going crazy for a few hours trying to install updates after updates last night but none would work. Thanks buddy. Now I'll just wait for an updated spoofer.

Edit: I might switch to Dex like you said, since I'm already on Rebug Rex.

When i coverted to DEX (I were on 4.78.2 CEX) i only did the toolbox stuff and i did not use the DEX UPDATE file. I don't need that, right?

Hi Have one question if I convert from cex to dex can I downgrade to OFW 3.55 easy and after install HABIB 4.78 and will I be stay dex when I install HABIB 4.78 or I have to convert it back to cex
