This thread will teach you how to change to a completely different CFW. For example, if you are on PS3ITA and you want to convert to Rebug since you heard it's more stable etc. then this thread will help.

You may of wondered why just putting your USB in your PS3 with Rebug 4.80 on it and trying to update via System Update doesn't work because your on PS3ITA. That's because these are TWO COMPLETELY different CFW's that aren't compatible with each other.

One thing you can do when you have a jailbroken PS3 is you can DOWNGRADE and this is how you change from e.g PS3ITA to Rebug. It's not that simple as putting the update on your USB because it won't work.

You'll need to find a reliable source/link that has the 3.55 OFW download and I'm not linking it in this thread as it can be considered as Warez which is against NGU's terms and conditions. However, if you do want the link privately via Skype then feel free to add me @ ClarkeyNGU

Before you downgrade to 3.55 OFW, make sure you take note of your CID as I believe it removes it from your PS3 when downgrading/upgrading CFW's. Once you've took note of it, you'll need to re-add it when you've successfully switched.

For me, I play on Rebug since it's a lot more reliable & I'm used to it now. If you aren't on it then it probably would consider a switch since it doesn't make your PS3 sound like a jet engine unlike PS3ITA (bang bang, shots fired!)
