(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); There are 2 numbers in your CID which are region specific, meaning that depending what market(part of the world the console is being sold to). When converting to DEX, these 2 numbers change to numbers unique to DEX console and pretty much dont have a region anymore. Anyone on sony's end whe saw it would know it was a DEX machine, and not supposed to be owned by regular consumers and certainly not supposed to go online.

Im pretty sure up until this point? Sony hadnt been paying it any mind. They have recently patched the ability to change some numbers of a banned CID and probably are paying more attention to the CIDs they are seeing online now, meaning theres a much bigger chance they can see those using DEX consoles online(if u hadnt previously used rebug toolbox to fix before going online). I wouldnt call it a crackdown so much as i would call it Sony paying more attention. I think there is a very good chance there are going to be a lot of ppl with the bad cid/banned error code above.*

Sadly at this point if you are using rebug toolbox and hadnt been, and still cant get online, your cid is compromised and will need a new one(only buy from trusted sources as there are TONS of cid scammers). But this is precisely what is happening. Sony is paying more attention, and flagging any DEX cid they see. If you havent yet been caught, rebug toolbox will work. If you are just now trying to use rebug toolbox to fix, and still cant get online, you will need a new cod(even if you get a new working cid, you should still use rebug(as a precautionary measure). Hopefully this long post cleared some things up for some people

I agree and disagree... I do think people need to learn how a cid works and understand that there are people selling shared,stolen and invalid cids, moreso than there are people selling them legitimately, but i dont think sony is really cracking down on anything...but they did cause some confusion and are hurting the weak and the uninformed. People just don't get it, If your new cid doesn't work, change active PS3id to CEX/DEX, if it doesn't work, you got ripped off. Simple.
