Once upon a time...

Where do you solder into the logic board to turn the light on only after the controller is connected? I'm working on modding a PS3 case and my controllers for a total custom setup and wondered where to start. I looked at a tutorial on how to do something much like this but it was for an older controller (I'm assuming, it had a manual power switch in it) and can't figure out how to connect mine.
