(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Im having troubling get my lag switch to work. Ive bought and tried both a cat5e and a cat6. Both with the same results. When using the orange wire as soon as i flip switch i get disconnected immediately. With green wire it does absolutely nothing, theres no effect. Ive even tried changing my connection speed to duplex 10 and 100. which has the same effect as using the green wire. running out of options and could use some suggestions. My last guess is trying a different switch or buying a different modem. im using a 3-way switch right now. any help would be greatly appreciated.

buy a reeeeeaaaally long ethernet cable and use that. it should increase your lag time at least a little. just keep experimenting, you'll get the right settings eventually.

longer cable isnt going to make any difference the current running through the cable is so fast it wouldnt matter if i had a 1 foot or 1 mile long cable, plus i dont even have any lag time i get disconnected immediately.

yes it will give you more lag time. you don't know what you're talking about obviously, so don't act like you do. Buy a cable at least 20 feet long, it WILL give you more time. Also just experiment with your internet settings on your PS3 or 360, whichever you own.

so your telling me that 6 more feet is going to make a difference, i dont think so. I have tried messing with my internet settings all that did was not make it work at all, when i flip switch my friend still sees me moving. So the only good it does me is i dont get disconnected, might as well just be using a normal ethernet cable.

look, you asked for help and I gave it to you. If you don't want to take my advice then fine.

you said you get disconnected immediately when using the orange, so experiment with it on the orange. When in the XMB you may get disconnected immediately, but you will have a few seconds of lag time while in-game.

i appreciate the advice but ive tried all that need something else. The only things i can think of that may be causing the problem are my modem or the switch i am using.

tbh, i doubt it's either of those things. I'm not sure whats wrong with it if nothing is working. If you're really desperate you could try net tools, but i don't recommend it.

ya im going to experiment with net tools, see how well that works. I did however try using my lag switch with other games. It seems that it works with one of my computer games, when connected directly to the modem i got about 10-20secs and through my router got about 5-10secs. so i think that rules out my modem. I might try using my other cable with the green wire and see if that gives me better results.

just tested my switch with my green wire cable, havent done connected to the modem directly, but when connected through the router i got about 30secs before lost connection. So hopefully when connected directly to modem ill probably get around 45secs of lag. Just wished i could get it working for my ps3.
