Sounds like it's dead, how old is the ps3? Have you tried safe mode? If all fails just try restoring the ps3

Do like he says. If that dont work try taking it apart and clean it and reapply some fresh artic silver thermal paste. Might need it. Could be bad n wearing thin. Usually causes it to freeze. Or maybe even your hard drive could be going bad. Make sure all wires are plugged in firmly. I used a power switch button for my slim but it kept freezing so unplugged that n just used the regular cord it worked fine..just a few ideas of things that might cause a instant freeze. Hope you fix it
