All i want to know is: What are the possibilities... What do i have to do to go online, what can i do with it now?

Noob-ish questions tbh but i stopped following the news on this matter since i got ylod.. Answers are appreciated

First thing to do is a Clean from inside.. You can do that by 2 ways. 1.) [Without opening your ps3] (for Fat models) Turn off your ps3 pull out your power cable then plug it in as as soon as you turn it on from the switch from the back press the eject button for CDs and it will make a very loud sound (MAX SPEED FAN ) (For cleaning dust) then you have to restart it manually.
2nd way is to open it and clean the dust inside it. I recommend you to buy an external fan which is cheap and take a look at this.

Thanks for the reply, but that's not what i was asking... I already know the procedure to fix the ylod.
What i wanted to know is: After i fix it... What can i do with it to make it useful again, like how do i manage to go online since the OFW is already so far ahead, will i get banned? how to avoid it... etc etc all those things someone who's not very into the ps3 mods/hacking scene anymore should know

You can Mod games by RTMing or by eboots.. You can install multiman to play backup-ed games..if you are planning to have CEX then you should use a spoofer.

Since i'm not very experienced i should keep my console CEX.. So to go online i'd have to use a 4.60 spoofer right? What are the odds of me getting banned?

Not to get an insane status in any game and avoid people reporting you. There are Account bans and Console bans. I suggest that you make a secondary account for all Call of duties (EXCEPT GHOSTS) since they all ban on account not on console and just take care when modding GTA 5 and COD Ghosts, Since they ban on console. Modding offline will always keep you safe.
