(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello guys!

I have done a few YLOD repairs and a few downgrades. Only this time its really anoying cause my friend had a broken ps3 and bought a new one, he said i could have it. It has YLOD i tried to fix it with the heatgun method but it dint work. Then i tried the oven method and it did. Now i installed the e3 flasher but in like 30 seconds the fan goes insane and the board is hot. Its a CECHH04 phat 40 gig. I cant upload foto's for some reason but my setup is like the fan and the power supply at the bottom. Then i have the mother board at the top of it. And yes i do it with just the mother board power sup and fan i have nothing else conected. Btw its like a mother board where the norchip is at a really anoying position.

it sounds like you ether heat the board too long or didn't give it enough time to cool before downgrading.

when you did the oven method did you do the one that you put it inside the oven or the one the use a electric stove and a glass baking pan

I did the one to put it inside. The thread is on NGU.

do you know i the oven has proper ventilation and did you wait as long as it said after it was taken out of the oven

also did you elevate the board it was no laying flat on the pan

Yea i put my board on the edge in a corner and i waited longer then the time to let it cool. (Normal 2-3 mins i did 30 mins) also i made the oven go to 425 F. And let it stay on 425 F. And not let it cool down.

you are an idiot ------even thou you might get lucky by using a heat gun or putting it the oven -----99% of the time it will do more harm then good ---you usually warp the board and create small cracks in it---when your ps3 ylod , it is probably because there is a solder break in one of the 100's of connection points on the cpu's----it is mainly because sony uses lead free solder on there connections and after getting heated and cooled so many times they get brittle and break -----the only real way to fix it is to have it reballed "that's where they remove the cpu's and completely remove all solder , then reinstall the cpu's with all new solder balls , and it should be leaded solder which will last a lot longer then the lead free type------also a hot air solder machine is 100 % better then the infrared ones that are out
