(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi NGU, just wondering if anyone can help, I'm utility formatting my ps3, it's give me a approx time of 7 hours 1 minutes, I read it take a while but is this about right? Any info or advice is welcome

Just do a quick format.takes a few minutes.

If you go for a full format of hdd it always says about 7 hours at start
.
Must lower the time when it figures out your size of hdd, but im not sure as i never done a full format.

I always choose the quick option.

It's useless doing full format on PS3, it's useful if you want destroy completely the data so that the files can not be recovered. If you want to do a proper format of the HDD connect it to the PC with a Sata to USB cable adapter and use the software HDD Low Level Format Tool

Thanks bu I tried that's, I wasn't clear but I was currently trying to recover and fix my hdd it was corrupt and I wondered if utility format would delete the 'corrupt'-also known as 'You fucked up' file but it ended up freezing but it's now with technicians currently getting upgraded and so on Smile thank you anyways pal
