The other day I was cleaning my fan and decided to just open up the entire PS3 so i did, but when i was pulling out the motherboard from the metal sheet that holds the fan, it pulled off the DC-In cable holder that is supposed to be connected tightly to the motherboard. Without that my PS3 wont turn on and my friends have suggested to solder it but I would like to know your guys opinions on it and maybe help me with this problem. BTW I've already bought the soldering iron but Im just waiting for another opinion. Thanks!

I would attempt to solder it. Unless you have a local tech shop and see what they could do.
I had the exact same thing happening when i downgraded my friends ps3, downgrade went fine, ripped off the connector when i was rebuilsing it id someone can fix it and post a picture where to solder that would be great
I was trying to post a pic earlier but it wont let me, and apparently I was gone for the weekend and my Dad tried fixing it and he broke it even more .... Thanks for your guys help doe
