(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello there,

I've picked up a ps3 phat 60gb and when I plug it in and use hdmi or scart there is no display. The console looks like it might of beem reflowed as it was opened and has newish compound in it. The hdd that was with the ps3 keeps clicking and won't do anything also tried it without it. I also can't access recovery mode/ safe mode. If i plug a controller in it starts to charge but thats it. Any help would be appreciated as I'm stumped on what to do.

Method 1
1. Turn Off in back (wait few seconds for it to re-set)
2. Turn on in back
3. Turn on in front and hold your finger on it 'till it turns off again -
(you get the beep on then the three beeps for reset and it will eventually beep again and turn off)
4. Turn off in back (wait few seconds for it to re-set)
5. Turn on in back
6. Turn on in front hold finger for three beeps and should work

Method 2
Use a new HDMI cable to replace it.

You probably overlooked the solution a thousand times.

The ps3 probably died during a firmware update.

First of all you are going to want to bake it. A Cechc03 is old enough to need it by now and not knowing its history its worth doing.

Then without a doubt, you need an FSM dongle or a hardware flasher.

Try the fsm dongle first, but if its on ofw > 3.55 its not going to work, you will have to use a hardware flasher. Since its a NAND consolse you will want the teensy++2 and a tsop clip for the nands.

Thanks for the help but the consoles RSX is dead far as i'm aware. I have a old 40gb motherboard with a working RSX and i'm going to replace the 60gb with the 40gb one and see if that fixes it. I don't think its CFW related or OFW as the console want display anything. I'm sure its a RSX failure as its doing the same thing that my old 160gb slim did before that died.

Thanks for the posts
