(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So i plugged my PS3 HDD into my computer and its not showing up. I then went to the manage settings and it says that it is unallocated. I then right clicked on it and tried clicking on create new simple volume and it doesn't let me click on it. I need to know as want to get my PS3 working thanks.

Y are you plugging it into your computer to format it, you can format it from the PS3 recovery menu

STEPS TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE RECOVERY MENU

Turn off your PlayStation 3 so you see the glowing red light.
Turn on your PlayStation 3 and HOLD the power button. Keep holding until it turns off.
Now turn it on again but this time it will be a little different. Press and hold the power button and you will hear. one Beep, one Beep, then two quick Beeps at this point release the power button. If you release it to late it will just turn off again. Return to step 2 if this happens.
You will be greeted with a screen asking you to connect a controller with a USB cable. Connect your controller with a USB cable.
Congratulations, you've made it to the PlayStation 3's Recovery menu.
