First of all you need geohots CFW (Custom Firmware).

Before you follow my steps Delete the patch from Game Data utility.

Okay first of all I recommened you using Rogero's manager, thats what I used.

Okay so first insert dead rising 2 into your PS3 and then go to Rogeros manager and press Circle, this should now start the copying process, wait about 10 minutes for it to be done,

when it is done quit the manager, you should have downloaded the Comgenies File manager and then once you have done that go on to it, there should be two panels, one on the left one on the right. On the left locate to HDD0/GAMEZ(Scroll down the bottom to find), there should be one folder called BLES/BLUS followed by some numbers, in that folder there is another folder called USRDIR, proceed forward into that folder, now you should see a DATA folder, highlight over it, do NOT go into it, now on the opposite side locate to HDD0/game/, locate to the same folder which had the EXACT same Numbers followed after the BLES/BLUS.

Go into the USRDIR in there and now on the other side (which should be highlighted over data) Press Circle , it should ask if you want to copy Data over to the other side, Press start, the copying will start and then wait another 15 minutes, (I know this might seem like a time waste but trust me it works.)

Once the data is transferred exit the file manager. Download the PARAM.SFO from the website IF you want mods you have to download the Datafile.big, Put these files on your USB and then plug your USB into your PS3 and then go back onto the file manager, there will be another option on both sides either USB0001 or USB000, or something like that it depends what USB slot you put it in, anyway go onto that and there it should show the Param.sfo and the Datafile.big if you chose to have it. then on the other side locate to where you copied the Data folder, (HDD0/game/ (DR2 Folder) In there it should say PARAM.SFO Copy the one from the USB overwriting the Originial PARAM.sfo, if you cannot find the PARAM.SFO it might be in the USRDIR folder.

IF you chose to have the modded Datafile.big after you have done the steps above go into the USRDIR folder then into the Data folder from your USB copy the Modded datafile.big overwriting the original. There you have the full working Dead rising 2!
NOTE: Everytime you start the game and then quit it the Dead rising 2 option will disapear off XMB, don't worry re-install the DR2 .pkg file again and you have to go to the file manager and replace the PARAM.SFO again.
You must NEVER update the patch always press Circle when it comes up OR to stay Online use Anon Proxy/Patchblocker - they should work Happy. THIS is only currently for EU, but I guess if you install a US .PKG you should be able to get it to work.
Please tell me if you did not understand this TUT I tried to make it as newb-friendly as I possibly could, just quote me and tell me where you have got stuck at, hope I helped you guys Happy.

But 70% of the fun is going online, surely by now someone has a method to get DR2 working from HDD with the 1.02 Update.

That would be great, because Dead Rising 2 is the only game in my collection which doesn't work properly, once I've got past the DR2 hurdle then I'm good to go Smile
