Save hacks generally come in 2 forms. 1 requires the transfer via USB and the other VIA FTP.

OFW= Official firmware AKA Usb hacks

OFW hacks or USB hacks can be done on any machine .


These are hack's simply done by copying a save from 1 machine to another and doing a required task in the game to unlock them.
Some games do not unlock the trophies instantly and require you to play the game but might start you off closer than a new game save.



CFW= Custom firmware or as some call it a "jailbroken" system is required to FTP saves to a machine.


If you do not have that , saves labeled as CFW hack will not work for you. You can not do them via USB because the save is locked to one machine.

Some saves will also corrupt when using them mostly if the game use's a "auto save" feature. If it does your could try to turn it off in the options .

If you have a game save you want to upload that has the option to turn auto save off , do that first before uploading or chances are it wont work 100%.

Games like Street fighter, Tekken, Marvel vs capcom will corrupt every time it auto saves. Sometimes you can quit the game after getting the trophies before it auto saves that way you don't have to FTP the save again.

EXAMPLE in Marvel vs Capcom 3 , say you have a save will all characters endings in arcade and all missions compete and you need both trophies , just beat the game and exit the game during the credits and restart game so you can do 1 mission to get that trophy. That way you don't have to FTP the save again


Some games will also not give trophies if you don't have the correct or newest update.(IE: Motorstorm pacific rift)

NOTE: The Param.sfo file is not needed when transferring to another machine. If you keep someone else param.sfo the save will not work.
Most CFW saves require you FTP all files except the .sfo. It just depends on the game.

What will a 100% Platinum save get me?

It just depends on the save. There are Platinum save hacks for CFW or OFW. However most are done with CFW.

Trophies that require you do X amount of X will usually unlock after doing them 1 time. This works most of the time but does not happen with all games.

Same goes for difficulty levels . If you beat the game on easy and the game has a trophy if you beat it on hard you will usually get them both for beating it on easy. However again this does not work for all games.


Not sure how to copy your save via usb?

Here are the instructions.......

1. On the XMB (cross media bar), go to the Game section.
2. Go to Game Saves
3. Put in your memory stick (cf, ms duo, sd)
4. Find the game save you want to copy/backup, highlight it and hit the Triangle button.
5. Choose the menu option to Copy
6. Hit the X button on the memory stick and let it copy.

Please note that some games can not be copied to usb. It's very rare but there are some that are locked.

But where do I put the save using FTP?


/dev_hdd0/home/000000XX/savedata/whatever game you have

000000XX is whatever account you have the save on. They should be in the same order on your user list.

Transfer all the files except the .sfo unless noted.


How do I know what my game ID is to find the folder?

If you have the disc or case it will be on the top of the game or the spine of the case.

Select the letter the game starts with and find your game.
Then click the DATA tab and it will list the game ID's for each region.


Another way you can find your Game id is by opening its SFO with notepad and go to the end. Credit:Abtean

If using FTP for your saves it does not matter what region the save is from .

If using USB it will only work for what ever region your game is from.



Programs that unlock trophies do exist. However as of now do not work properly so don't waste your time with them. In general it will just mess your system up.

also , some trophies can not be hacked and must be earned .(EXAMPLE Dream drifter or GTR official record in Gran turismo 5)
