Can you even load a save for your online stats? From what I've heard, this is not possible.

yes I did it with another save. Depending if they have the dlc loaded if you transfer the files with CFW then upload it to exploder and overwrite the files to your original save to avoid corruption then loading it on the system it loads your profile and all settings. However the save I uploaded to my ps3 was already complete and therefore no trophies popped up. So I was curious if someone had it grinded to the 40's, I or whoever can grind the rest to 50 and download complete pops up.
