your region is on your disk , ps3 will play any disk dlc will only run on that region disk and saves are set to the disk region blus united states blue Europe and yes there is a few more just throwing an example to you

Whenever u drag a file either off the Xploder database or across to ur USB it'll tell you what your copying Bles or Blus. Thats a good indication at least that the save will or wont work. There are also regions within regions, germany/italy etc for example -being part of europes Bles may have a slightly different number at he end. This is due to the default language settings set on the disc.
