Im having a little problem with this because everytime i start the game it gives me black screen and it freezes..
Your tutorial is spot on and i´ve managed to do everything like you said but just to make sure, the entire archive folder must be copied to \PS3_GAME\USRDIR\data correct?

I've finally managed to have this work, due to the numerous numbers of request, i'm posting this cause i've no time to answer everyone in my inbox. I'm quite busy at the moment to get online trophies on cfw while it last.
Step 1
1. Download my file missions.xml (extract .rar, it's inside)
2. Go to your backup of "Splatterhouse"
On your computer go to your backup and navigate to that folder \PS3_GAME\USRDIR\data
unpack archive.psarc (use google to find the tool to unpack psarc files) - you can delete archive.psarc (or make of copy of it somewhere else)
archive.psarc will be extracted to \PS3_GAME\USRDIR\data\archive
3. copy everything (file, folders) inside \PS3_GAME\USRDIR\data\archive to \PS3_GAME\USRDIR\data
4.Go to \PS3_GAME\USRDIR\data\global
replace the existing missions.xml by mine
Step 2
Launch the game.
Start the game without any save (delete your previous save if you have one)
In the first figth of the game, just kill 2 ennemies with 1 hit, all trophies start popping. (that's what i've modified)

Known issues
when you launch the game, sometimes it freeze -> restart PS3
when you launch the game, sometimes it does nothing while loading -> press PS button, start again
