Post: A little GG guide :) on using any save to go into Advanced mode

Do a barrel roll!
in the prototype folder it has these files
CRC.BIN
PARAM.SFO
PARAM.PFD
ICON0.PNG
and in the infamous folder the files are
STATE
PARAM.SFO
PARAM.PFD
ICON0.PNG
ok so first prototype has cheats wich also means it has access to the advance mode.
and the main file that game genie edits in prototype is the userdata.bin file.
so what i did was i got the state file from infamous and renamed it userdata.bin and just copy and replaced it to the prototype folder after that make sure to go to folders and search options and unchecked hide extensions.
After your done pasting the USERDATA.BIN(aka STATE FILE) go to game genie and you'll see prototype and just right click on prototype and click on advance. And game genie is thinking you're editing the prototype main file but actually you're editing the infamous STATE file so search the amount of xp you change it to ffffff and click on apply it will save it and your done. Go back to the the proto folder and copy the userdata.bin file back to the infamous folder and make sure to rename it back to STATE and remove the .bin so it goes back into a file with no extension and just copy and paste it and load it up and your done simple as tht
Note make sure when you try this method with other games there in the range of the data for ex proto is 30 kb but infamous was like 10 but there in the tenth's range so if u have a 300kb data and a 10 kb data it wont work it has to be in the same range enjoy

It's okay. I actually have a Red Dead Redemption save I can try later. I did try it with Ninja Gaiden Sigma which is over 100 kb, but everytime I tried going into Advanced Mode via GameGenie there was an error. Right now I'm pretty busy with other things, but when I get more time I'll tinker with it some more and see if I can somehow mod the Dark Souls save I have. Thanks for the guide though. If you ever come across a save with multiple USER.DAT files and figure out exactly what to do let me know. 
will do but try to find the file with the most memory because that can be the main file

GAME GENIE has a advance feature were you're able to hex the games easy and fast. and basically some games that do not appear on the game genie list dont have that feature (may b the update removed it or something) but you can trick game genie onto thinking its a game from the list. doing so lets u able to use advance feature and you'll be able to hex games on non list. to do this all you have to do is get the games main file and rename it as the main file as the game on the list so when you edit the game it will be editing the data of a game that is not on the list. get it ??? also the data has to be in the same range as the other game like 10 kb of the game that is not on the list and a 10-90 kb of the game in list will work but if its over the range like 100+ it wont work so you have to keep it in range like 100kb(game not in list) has to be in range with 100-900kb (game on list) data. do you get it now or should i post a video up??

i dont think it works because i tried to help a friend with one of his game doing the same methood but the main source is us and the one he wanted me to mod was eu (since he bought a eu game by accident) and i tried at first to edit it in advance by doing this methood and when i tried putting the save back it would transfer but give an error

i just edit it a bit more it's because i had to go to sleep since i had school the next day and i just did a run on >.<

vids are always do u think you could use gg to edit a system data from a game that im dying to hack along with the save from star ocean on here im dying to hack it.
