Is it possible if I put my friends PSN account on my PS3 sync all his trophies and then sign out of his account, log back in with my account and sync them back onto mine? Will I get banned and will I be able to do it? He has many platinum trophies that I would like to get too!

No that isn't possible.

If it was that easy, why would people still use savegames and CFW? You can't do it the way you say. But there is another way to do it. If your friend creates a new user on his ps3 and pops some trophies with it, then you can just use your account to login on that user and then the trophys will sync. If the user that has the trophies is already linked to a psn account, it won't work.
