(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Unlimited golden keys PS3 - USB stick only

!!IMPORTANT YOUR SAVE MUST STILL HAVE AT LEAST 1 GOLDEN KEY!!

put your usb into ps3
go to "Saved Data Utility (PS3™Winky Winky"
notice the 2 Borderlands 2 files, they should say something like

Borderlands™ 2
9/26/2012 2:17PM 277KB
Zero-Level 31-Sanctuary

and

Borderlands™ 2
9/26/2012 2:17PM 259KB
Profile data

So from now on we will call the first one "Character Data"
and the second one "Profile data"

1.)
Ok to get started copy both files to your USB stick the
"Profile data" is the only one you will actually need
but having a back-up of your character is always nice

2.)
Start Borderlands™ 2 game
and open the golden chest get your guns if you want them
if you have more than 1 key you can use them all.
Press START
scroll down to QUIT then chose Save and Quit.

3.)
Hold down the PS button and Quit Game
Go back to "Saved Data Utility (PS3™Winky Winky"
Go to your USB Device
and copy "Profile data"
DO NOT copy the "Character Data" if you do you will lose the guns you get
from the golden chest.

4.)
Start Borderlands™ 2 back up and do it all again
and doing it this way you wont need a friend online
and you will still be able to keep your guns!

How to get both items in quests that make you choose

The best example for this, would be getting the beer for Mordecai.
You can choose to take it to Mordecai for one of his old sniper rifles,
or to Moxxi for her pistol.

The basis for what you do here is simple.
All your quest information, guns, bank guns, skill points and playthrough information
is saved on your "Character Data".

And your "Profile data" is where your Badass rank, Golden Keys, and Claptraps stash are located.

So if you are on a quest where you can choose which item you want.
All you need to do is complete everything in the quest until it says turn it in
then STOP

Save and Quit

Copy both "Character Data" and "Profile data" to your storage device make a second set as backup if your worried you might mess it up.

Go back in Borderlands™ 2 turn the quest in.

Choose 1 of the items.

Put the item in Claptraps stash.

Save and quit again.

Copy your "Character Data" that you have stored back on your PS3.

Now when you go back you will see you haven't completed the quest but it is still at the point where you turn it in. Also you have the item still in Claptraps stash. So now just choose the other option and for turning in the quest.

I will be posting more glitches like this that I find while going through the game

A little side note that I have found from the guns you get by tipping Moxxi they don't actually cost a fixed amount such as 15,000 and 25,000 like people are claiming if you save right before you tip her then tip her alot she will give them to you but it isnt always alot I figured this out when I figured out that the guns don't have a set damage they are random. I had 70,000 and just tipped her, till I got the
Good Touch and checked its damage then held down PS button and Quit game without saving if I didn't like the damage or accessories on the gun and repeated that till it was one I wanted eventually at level 25 I got a level 22 Good touch for 3,000$ that did 350 damage.

I made a video with this method a few days ago :P

But the way I made it you copy the character because I didn't know what one keys was saved in

yea the way you do it you wont be able to keep the guns you get which is the issue i ran into till i found this im currently working on a way to edit the save to give as many keys as i want basically getting alot of different saves and finding where they differ and if the only difference is the amount of keys i should be able to isolate exactly where the keys are stored and hex edit the save but every time i hex edit it at all it gets corrupted I need to find someone to resign my save to have more keys and then i will be able to get a better idea where its stored based on whats changed

Do a barrel roll!
Do you mean having an extra golden key still after using it?

I did it all according to your instruction but when I copied my profile and load it again, my golden key is now gone.

Edit: Nvm, I think I did it incorrectly.

If you have saved both files like I said to do then you should'nt have lost your key you should be able to save it even if you messed up since its saved in your profile data not character data. In any case i should have said to make 2 copies its what I do in case I accidentily copy over the files from the ps3 and overwrite the card in which case its screwed luckily I haven't done that yet

Do a barrel roll!
Haha, that's what I exactly did. I was too excited and accidentally copied the data from PS3 to the USB instead and thats what caused the whole problem.

I agree. Should actually add a note on the original post warning people not to make this mistake.
Managed to grab the shift code and tested this again carefully and it works! thanks.
